Ok, review/break down of events time.  At about 5pm me and my sister went to catch the bus to Westpac Arena and we stood around freaking out that we were waiting in the wrong place or something until the bus showed up. There seemed to be a lot of people heading to the Arena too including these two girls who didn't have any tickets and were hoping to buy some off someone outside the venue - I have no idea if they managed to get inside. The doors opened at about quarter to seven and we got our wristbands as we went through the doors into the lobby where the merchandise was (I bought a $55 T shirt and then stood around feeling ill about spending all that money). Ugh. So expensive.  Anyway, we were lining up for about half an hour before the doors opened and we all ran for the barrier. We got in about the fourth row (between where Jared and Caleb would be) and then there was a lot of waiting and pushing. I worked my way up a little bit to the third row but my sister isn't as strong (or as aggressive and insane) as me so we kind of got separated and she was a few rows behind me but she was still hanging in there - and the support hadn't even come on yet. At this point I was DIRECTLY behind this guy who was something like 6'5 or 6'6 and I was pretty much spooning him - I felt like I should have asked for his number or something for the sake of decency since we'd been so close. We met these two girls in the crowd - Millie and Esther (if you guys are out there - Hi!) and we stood chatting to them for a bit as we were waiting for the support to come on - Millie was surprised to find out I was 21 (she thought I was younger - thank you sweet). At some point I managed to get in front of the super tall guy and I made it to the second row. Awesome! After waiting around in very cramped conditions for about an hour Luger Boa (the support) came on and they were much better than I expected. They played for about half an hour or so and then there was another half an hour maybe of watching Nacho and the others set up the stage. Why does Matt have two fans pointed at him? Nacho was stood in front of one of them fiddling with the guitar and it was blowing his hair around like a cheesy 80s music video or something. After a slight wait their intro music came on and there was an almighty roar from the crowd as they walked out onto the stage.  It was amazing! I couldn't take my eyes off of them. They started up with Crawl and everyone around me was singing (or rather shouting) along - absolutely incredible! Next was Taper Jean Girl that a lot of the people around me in the crowd seemed to know - which was nice. Then as that song ended the guy I'd been talking to while waiting for the show to start grabbed my arm and turned me around to tell me that my sister was freaking out and she couldn't breathe. Oh my God it was so horrible.  She'd realised she was getting crushed and she couldn't breathe so she'd tried to get herself out by going to the side or trying to go back but there was nowhere for her to go and some people even thought she was trying to steal their spot or something when she was trying to get towards me (in tears). When she realised she couldn't get out she started to panic, which just made everything that much worse for her. Me and the guy were trying to clear a gap for her to get through to me but the crowd was pushing so hard I had to elbow one girl out of the way and push the guy backwards as hard as I could with the other hand (sorry man - I know you were trying to help) and then he'd try to push her through the tiny gap. We finally got her through there (while My Party had started up) and then we managed to get security's attention and she was lifted up as me and the guy lifted her feet to get her over the barrier. Then I tried to follow her and the girls in front of me fucking closed the gap and gave me the dirtiest look - yeah that's right guys, I'm trying to steal your spot  . A security guard came over to drag me out and I ran after my sister while these two other security guards further down tried to grab me by the arm to stop me  I was running AWAY from the stage so it's not like I was about to invade it and tackle Jared or something. I finally caught up with her in the hallway thing where we stood so she could catch her breath and get some water. I'd had such an adrenaline rush fighting to get her out of there that I was shaking like crazy once we'd got out. Anyway, we went back in closer to the back and rocked out there for a bit before working our way a bit closer to the stage again over the course of the show - not the front rows though.  They seemed to be in quite a good mood and Caleb was smiling during a lot of the songs and thanking us etc. and saying 'What a way to end a tour' stuff like that; and I swear Jared was kind of bass facing a bit during the first two songs (the only ones I was close enough to see that for). The set list was great and I was so happy to hear Wasted Time and I danced my arse off to that. Everyone went crazy for Sex on Fire (of course) and looking around it seemed like the whole place was on it's feet for that one. I called my brother a few times so he could hear his favourite songs and when Cold Desert started up I cried all over my sister's head while singing as loud as I could - oh God I'm so embarrassing.  But yeah, all in all it was a great night and I can't wait to see them again; whenever that may be. |

OMG Stephanie!! That sucks your sister freaked out,and you had such a good spot too! But at least she's ok and you were able to enjoy the rest of the show!!  and to answer your question... Why does Matt have two fans pointed at him? Because Matt is the hottest Followill,obviously! See?   Sorry i couldn't resist! |

You are brilliant for posting photos, I was there and I really regret not bringing a camera.
Sounds like you had a fantastic time as well (minus the sister crushing), my friends and I were on the barrier and I was right in front of Caleb - it was epic. I was impressed by the fact that the crowd really got into every song, not just SOF, US and OC. I bought myself a hideously overprices t-shirt as well and am now unsure whether that was necessary considering I walked away with one of Nathan's drumsticks. The cherry on top right there.

God i'm just so freaking out about this,i've watched this like 10 times already!! |

Just because I have no idea where else to put this - What happened to all the merchandise on the website? My friend and I were looking for the red KOL t-shirt with the footall helmet and "Followill" written on the back but when we tried to buy it at the show we were told they only had Mens XL. Then they said to check the website. I've done that but I can't find the t-shirt.
WHERE CAN I GETS IT?

Jared - ego much maybe??? I can see why he'd be pissed off but it seems a bit much to smash the bass?? Did he actually completely smash it??? Its wouldnt be surprising if they are all dealing with the major fame differently...some will enjoy it, some will have ego issues, some may not enjoy it! Me thinks its all part of the process!! Im sure its great to be appreciated for your music and talent but Im not sure Id wish papparazi lovin celebrity status on my worst enemy |
