I know I'm late but just got home this afternoon from what was the most incredible weekend of my life. We planned on only staying the Thursday night, but we met some absolutely fantastic people at the gig, we ended up staying an extra 2 nights. The nightlife in Newcastle is top class and the people have to be the most friendliest I've ever met. What can I say about the gig that hasn't already been said?? For me, it was electric. I got chills when they came onstage and Crawl started up. Getting them now just thinking about it. I agree there seemed to be a lot of people not into it, I presumed they were newbies and didn't get half of the music. Their loss for not enjoying it more. When they played Joe's Head and Trani I screamed so loud I tasted blood. And they premiered Notion! Even though it's the one track on OBTN I skip over, I gotta say it was amazing live. They were all amazing, Caleb especially was in top form, swaggering around the stage like the Cock o' the North. He seemed happy to be there and was giving off a good energy. People were throwing crap and bottles of pee [one of which hit my buddy Nick], but we were too into the gig to even care what was going on around us. Have to say though, there were a group of young girls in front of us who were too busy applying their lipgloss and taking pics of each other on their phones to notice what was going on onstage. Wtf!?! They perked up when SOF came on, though. One of them even had the audacity during Trani to ask her friend, "What's this crap?" Nick had to hold me back from punching her one. All in all, even though the journey up was a nightmare with the weather and we're exhausted and spent up, what an immense weekend. Best KOL gig I've been to. I'm just gutted I won't be seeing them next June. But thanks to KOL, we made some great new friends. We've already planned for them to come down to Cheshire. Geordies rock!

I stuck to Envy, Liquid seemed a bit chavvy. In fairness, Envy played good music and was very cheap drink. But yeah Newcastle people are friendly and the women are hot. Thats my two cents.

I went to this gig! The weather was really bad that day and the trains were off on the morning and the roads were quite bad so i was worried that i wasnt going to get there cos i live about 40 miles south of Newcastle, but i love the city!

No, no that dance crap was downstairs. Upstairs they played Stone Roses, Kings Of Leon, Arctic Monkeys, Foo Fighters and other such stuff.

morag i think liquid is an abismal place. but you also said stonelove was poor? not a chance big lad. cooperage is also epic. stonelove, its just as bad as bulletproof, just an even worse setting!!! its like the owners have gone 'oo how can we make this into a stereotypical indie club, i know lets play the same stereotypical mainstream indie bands on repeat' i really despise the place, the coop at least has some sort of an atmosphere and its a bit dingy, and doesnt really get as many people trying incredibly hard to fit in to the theme as stonelove. rant over. i simply hate the place
