In "I Want You" I thought the line was "our cars jacked up/ you can play your R&B tunes." Like the whole song was some weird commentary on R&B music videos.
Of course it's actually "I call shotgun/ you can play your R&B tunes".

i know this was way back on the first page but:
"In four kicks i thought the first words were 'hot men dont take no nonsense' (haha i even make myself laugh with that one!)"
made me just absolutely die laughing. gosh if any band was to actually say "hot men dont take no nonsense", it would be the Kings. damn rightfully so.

In Manhattan rather than "a yelp and a scream and away I ride" I thought it was "your parents' grief at the way i ride" And Beneath The Surface, i thought "with your faces" was "rip your face off" Haha, oh dear

i'm sure there are plenty of my own lyrical bloopers, but this one is too funny not to put on here RIGHT NOW. This morning i was driving to the liquor store with my mom and i had OBTN in and SOF was playing...my mom definitely thought "all the commotion" was actually "I got a promotion." She just kept on singing like that one line made perfect sense...HAHAHA...i couldn't see the road i was laughing so hard...

Lol I can't remember any specific ones but I know there are quite few I've either not been able to understand or got totally wrong at first.
It's funny because as soon as you know what the right lyrics are you hear it right! My friends always go on about you can't understand what he's singing but I think you can understand their songs more easily the more you listen

In McFearless the lyric, "And I keep feeding their face"..I always thought it was , 'And I get peed in the face.' I thought it was that too for awhile, cause i'm stupid and never bothered to look up the lyrics. haha, wow. it aint i keep feeding their face its i keep beatin them right? for where nobody knows i was sure it was rape also

I'm dying laughing and trying to eat, it's rather hard!
I used to thing it was "Taper jean girl with a monkey on her face" when it's supposed to be "Taper jean girl with a motel face"! I mean why would I think that?

When I first heard Sex on fire I thought it was 'All the commotion, it's killing the pain' instead of 'All the commotion, the kiddie like play'
And with Taper Jean Girl I heard 'Taper jean girl can't sleep' ....

In Slow Night, So Long, I though where it's "You're not so nice" it was "Nassau Nights" because there's a street in Dublin called Nassau Street, even though that's no reason.

In Head to Toe i'm still not sure what the lyrics are...
is it "oh he's such a sucker from her head to her toes" or is it...
"oh he said to suck her from her head to her toes" ahahha.
probably the first one, but it sounds more like the second one to me...

Weird, I was just listening to that yesterday wondering the same, I just sing "he wants to suck her from her head to her toe" I'm sure its wrong but I shout it loud enough to drown out Caleb so its all good

Oh wow, I have sooo many. I'll probably post many times here.
Like many others I had a hard time with Four Kicks. I heard the first line as "Tough men don't take no knots." In the middle, I hear "She be slappin' on the butt from the city" and I just thought that was simply more lyrical raunchiness.
I love Caleb's voice. I think it's amazing how he can abandon entire syllables in one song and stretch out others past the point of recognition in another. Whenever I listen to Milk I like to spell out the lyrics in my head: "Keeeuuuuwwwllaameee!" <3

Video I found about lyrics being totally wrong: uk.youtube.com/watch?v=K_TtA1CFwco

Aw Darn, i thought it was "it's killing the pain.." and ive listened to that song so many times... Plus im with their girlfriends on the line in Manhattan..i thought he said "I like to dance all night, and some of the day" in Mc Fearless I thought the line was "I'll take my seat with tears drip down from my eyes" instead of "ill cross my t's and try to dot my i's"
