This is gonna be one of those songs that is amazing live. I can just imagine the whole crowd belting out "Yooooooooooooooooooooou, your sex is on fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirrrreeee!" I totally agree. V and Brixton next week and going to be with aload of Kings virgins at V 2 fans and about 30 people who if I'm lucky'll have a vague idea what I'm dragging them to but see them they will. I'll be having no Zutons shit, and they're going to love it.

Yesterday I was a bit undecided with the song...Actually, I hated it and felt like cryin cos I wanted it to be so much better...But now I absoloutly love it...The lyrics and Caleb's voice are class and the song in general is just so good! I don't think I could be any more excited for this freakin album!!

I still strongly dislike it, it's just so not them. Maybe from another band, but it's not their sound. Loe Caleb's voice in it though.

The Kings direction or approach in my opinion since Becuase of the times and on the new stuff is a much more European vibe, songs are very regimented, strict, methodical, which if you like euro music is great, which I happen to love the vibe of the new stuff...
A,erican music is much more loose, anything can happen sound, like the EP and the first full length album by KOL, very american, remember when the media was trying to dub them the "Southern Strokes"
This new stuff is more Depeche Mode than Strokes..which I am fine with

If by "regimented, strict, methodical" you mean boring and obvious, than I agree. I like Crawl & Use Somebody, but Manhattan and Sex On Fire are such let downs.

i like it. been listening for a couple of times now and it sounds good. i mean the sound quality is not very good but i guess that when we listen to the album it will be better. don't know why people say that its not kol sound. it has good lyrics, great voice and for what i could hear great guitar riffs and a traditional raw sound.

i just heard that radio 1 interview...apparently one of the songs on this album was meant to go on aha shake, and another was meant to go on BOTT.....i wonder which ones they are...it seems weird to think maybe crawl or somethin could have been on either of those albums...
imagine how sick they must be of the ASH one...

actually sex on fire sounds a bit like my third house or something....i reckon if this was a B Side people would be saying they loved it and couldn't believe it had been left off the album lol

If by "regimented, strict, methodical" you mean boring and obvious, than I agree. I like Crawl & Use Somebody, but Manhattan and Sex On Fire are such let downs. It's funny because for me the only let down is Use Somebody. I don't like it AT ALL, but I think Manhattan is amazing.

I think all the songs we've heard so far are good in their own way. With Crawl at first I was a bit "meh its boring blah blah blah" but then I saw them play it live at T in the Park, and it is 10x better live. Manhattan reminds me of Arizona, it's a big song. And I like big songs Caleb's voice sounds top notch on Use Somebody, and I'm a sucker for the cheesy songs haha. Sex on Fire is just amazing. I think it's typically KOL. They are taking risks, I mean have to listened to the lyrics? What other band out there is gonna sing lyrics like that?! I read in the new NME magazine, it was a small interview with Caleb about the new album, and he said his dark lyrics were still there. He said one song is about a vampire, one about a Native American and another thing that I can't remember now lol. He also said some of the songs that you think are love balleds are actually murder ballads. Something to look forward to I guess

i absolutely love this song! caleb's voice is amazing and the guitar/drums/bass are too. all of it bascially haha. and i love the lyrics. and i have noticed with the new songs, with perhaps the exception of 'use somebody', (this is hard to explain) that each line of the song is quite short. for example Crawl: you fall (gap) my pride (gap) dont ever need to apologize (gap) your lips (gap) unfold (gap) as opposed to previous songs / albums where the lines were longer black thumbnail for example. my cold cold sailor heart says get on your way (gap) i aint to proud to say but thats how i'm made (gap) ... just something i noticed, neither positive nor negative, just an observation i do love all the new songs, and its been said a million times but september 22nd cannot come soon enough

i dont understand this when people say "its not their sound", it is kings of leon and it is their sound, u cant expect a band not to develop over the years, after 3 albums and years of touring kol hav grown as a band especially as musicians, there time spent touring with U2 and pearl jam has clearly had an effect so its only natural that they feel thier music should represent thier new experiences
but just because its new it doesnt mean its not thier sound, its how there feeling at this point in time, and if caleb and the rest decided only to write songs that sounded like they shoud be on aha shake for the rest of thier careers they would become very bored very quickly
BOTT was a huge step in a different direction than the previous two but again its still the kings and its a brilliant piece of music, obviously theres no problem in disliking a song if you think its a bad song, but to dislike it just because u think its not that the bands "sound" is a bit naive.
