^^ i know, right?! its so hard controliing myself *tear* but, i think i have to stick it out.. but its cool hearing my fellow KoL fans buzzing arround all excited!! I got Someone Like You & Manhattan on my ipod as soon as I could, but then I was like 'no, wait until the album comes out' too because I was slightly disappointed, so I deleted them. I'm going to go delete SoF now, but keep Crawl, I really like it!

i didn't know what to make of "sex on fire" just from hearing it from Jonathan88's myspace recordings.
but today that the song is on the Kings myspace, the sound is so much clearer and i love it !
If they play this at All Points West I'm gonna freak out!
(as a side note, I'm feeling very discouraged from posting on HA lately because of the massive amounts of people who are just creating new accounts to talk shit about the new songs...honestly, i'm not gonna pay attention to any of your comments if you're not a HA user that I know and trust. If I'm not familiar with your screen name ect, I'm gonna ignore everything you say. To me your just a fair-weathered fan.)

^^^ I think laura was just referring to the new people/un-frequent posters who are shit stirers/trouble makers.
lets just keep this thread for discussion about sex on fire, yea? i mean, HA has always been so good for intelligent music-related discussion, so lets keep it that way peeps.
EDIT* - and i would like to add - theres a fine line b/w stating your opinion intelligently and just being straight out rude..all of us peeps who post frequently share diff opinions, but hey, thats never affacted the way we interact with one another..whyy?? coz no one crosses the line and says rude things .
done. im audi.. gonna go study!

if you want a better version, go to file2hd.com, and grab it from their myspace. as far as my opinion, i'm real annoyed at people saying they sound so much different then the old stuff. would you rather they sounded exactly the same with no new flavor? i'm just grateful to hear new material from a modern band that doesnt suck and has true talent. i'm sure you all have, but if not, another great band is the black keys. check em out. ciao

ok...ok...ok...i rushed to their myspace to take a listen and in all honesty...i wasn't surprised at all when i heard the maturity and complete oppositeness (i don't think that's a word, but that's all that comes to mind) of earlier kings. I really like this song, Crawl, Manhattan, and Use Somebody...this album is nothing short of epic for the kings and their constant pursuit to make a better record than before. I mean, the lyrics may not be the horny rants and raves of a couple of guys buzzed out on coke anymore, and, sure, the melodies and guitar riffs may be a bit more mellow now...but so are they. They've grown up, they've matured since the early days. They're ready to be appreciated and known for more than their reputation of sleepless nights, crazy parties (which were always amazing) and somewhat manwhorish tendencies. I think this song and all the other ones are what real king fans can appreciate and look forward to. I mean, can you imagine how amazing they'll sound live?! I know i can't wait to get a good buzz going and see them perform live...like i said...this album is nothing short of epic...and therefore, their shows will be as well.

Yeah there's a lot of people jumping on this 'Kings Of Leon are crap these days' band wagon.
Do you love the band or do you love the YAYM album?
You know what I mean folks?
Anyway...Sex On Fire
Someone said it resembles Dakota by Stereophonics, I agree.
I also think it resembles So Alive by Ryan Adams.
Add to that a little U2.
No problemo for me, I just so happen to love Dakota, So Alive and U2 lol
I think Sex On Fire still sounds like KOL though.
Caleb is unmistakable, the 'southern' tinged guitars are still there, the awesome bass lines still there, Nathan is still banging on the drums like he always has, he has actually got a lot better at it too, since BOTT.
Thats my take on it all anyway.

Someone said it resembles Dakota by Stereophonics, I agree. I also think it resembles So Alive by Ryan Adams. So Alive is one of my favourite songs ever. And Dakota is probably Stereophonic's best song post-their first album (can't remember for the life of me what it's called, but it's a great album) FINALLY heard Sex on Fire last night, totally creamed myself. It's bloody amazing.

I FOR ONE ABSOLUTELY LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE THIS NEW TRACK!!! I can NOT wait for the album!!! Totally awesome song, I admit seems as if it doesn't bring anything new, but I think you just need to listen to it again if it's common, it's as classy common as you can get... beautiful song, awesome beat and sound.
