See I love the SM too I thought their set was amazing, the Kings were so great. They are making a dvd of that show. I emailed Brandon from SM about it coming out so when I find out anything I will let you guys know. I loved Red Morning Light, I was bummed cause they hadn't played it this tour so I tought I would never get to see it live, but they played it Asheville and at Nashville, I died it was so great.

SECRET MACHINES WERE THE BIGGEST PIECES OF SHIT I EVER SAW, MOST EVERYONE IN THE RYMAN WAS IN THE LOBBY WAITING ON THOSE LOSERS TO GET OFF STAGE!!! Actually the Secret Machines DID NOT suck. All my professional musician friends (including me) loved the show. They just have a different musical style than KOL and they need to be respected for that. I've been to several of their shows and they really rocked and the crowds went wild. I was kind of suprised that they didn't get a better response from the crowd and it's probably cause the crowd wasn't as familiar with them. I remember going to one of KOL's first shows in Nashville and they didn't get the response they do now simply cause no one knew them and their sound is so unique like SM. The main reason a lot of people were out in the lobby during SM's show getting beer was cause there was only 2 beer stands with only 2 people working them and they were slow as hell so the lines were all the way out the door to get beer. That sucked! But thanks KOL for introducing me to the Secret Machines (and the Features) as well. KOL likes the Secret Machines so they should be good and they are!

Thank you sweetie I totally agree. I am a little upset that I defended all of us on the Secret Machines message board and now everyone is saying stuff like that about them. The response to them came from SM being unknown there. That is near the Kings home town so of course they were gonna get the best crowd response now that they have gotten bigger here and are well known.

yeah I do get the length thing if your not a huge fan. Their shortest song is five minutes long, Girl from the North Country fair is right a eight I think. Someone said their set was like 72 minutes long I think.

Yeah, if you are thinking about the song they opened with it was Nowhere again.
-There's a woman in the mirror in a firey state, she motions to me to start looking away. She's lifting her dress up, trying to keep up. I love that part!

I sadly missed "Nowhere Again" - I was late -- I was in the front of the balcony and there were lots of people hanging out watching the SM. It was indeed a long set w/long songs, but it was a seated air conditioned venue and they sounded and looked great, so I was quite happy w/it. The Kings' hand-pick their own openers and I usually like them - Jet, The Features, Lucky Guns, Be Your Own Pet. I wonder if Caleb would be willing to be my own personal record shopper?

Yea, I too loved the Secret Machines, and get this I was at Tower Records and got thier CD for like 2 bucks because someone returned it, after playing it once...simply ridiculous! I actaully felt bad only paying 2 bucks for it, but whatever.
Lesley and Andy, I totally agree about them not being liked/well -received because they are ahead of thier time and sound orginal...I like what the SM are doing...the drummer is fucking badass! At the NYC show, no one in the crowd around me was familiar with the song "Girl from the North Country"....and people were actaully complaining about how the song was too slow and that it sucked....I felt sick to my stomach! Bob Dylan is probably one of the greatest American songwriter, even if you don't care for him and his music....at least know and respect the music...I found myself getting mad at people around me for the fact that they were more concerned with how pretty everyone in KOL is...(don't get me wrong, the good looks are an added bonus). At least here on this board I can talk about music intelligently with ya'll...but man people at shows can really suck sometimes

The guitarist is Ben, he and the bass/piano player Brandon are brothers. Gosh I love those guys! I totally agree juls, they are very original. I listen to a lot of music and there is just nothing like them, as odd as it sounds they just get in your head. Seeing them live is the best though, the lights doing nothing but make it awesome. I can't believe someone has not heard Girl from the North Country Fair before, let alone would mouth it. What has happened to knowing your history. Bob Dylan is a legend.
To be completely honest I met some of the most amazing and nice fans at these shows, but I met more than a share of pretenders and obnoxious people.

I know, especially at Atlanta I had just as much fun being there and meeting other people than talking to the band.

Next time KOL have some shows down south in Atlanta and Nashville, I will be there! Its not that far from philly...
From all your reviews, it sounds like the crowds were much better than the crowd in NYC...(philly crowd was good)

The smaller towns and venues seem to have the best shows and crowds.

I heard Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol is a very big fan of theirs. He loves their stage presence ... And he's not the only one! ![:D](http://i45.tinypic.com/pnoi.jpg)
