I believe I read somewhere that Nathan and Matt were born in Oklahoma. Perhaps in Talihina? Talihina Sky...........? Also, seems it's in the heart of Choctaw country. Therefore, the tattoo on Nathans arm? Any thoughts? www.talihinacc.com/

Yes! I have found some answers. "They may tour a lot, but every year they spend two weeks at a Followill family reunion in Talihina, Oklahoma." "We know but for this," Nathan said, gesturing to his band, "we'd be painting houses in Oklahoma." Here is a link to the article: www.taipeitimes.com/News/feat/archives/2005/03/07/2003225894

Yeah, Nathan and Matthew were born in OKC, OK. Straight from the hoss's mouth. And yeah, Caleb and Jared were born in Tennessee. I believe they told an international audience it's "around Memphis." So down in southern Tennessee out in the country. lol I don't think Nathan really researches his tattoos that deeply. He's got a dreamcatcher on his pec, and that's not Cherokee, Choctaw, or Chickasaw. (They're sposedly part Cherokee and Chickasaw.) Dreamcatchers are Ojibwe/Chippewa. I think he got it cuz it was pretty. lol

haha wow karma! do you have caleb and jareds ones? xx Oh, I wish! They musta been real hung over that day. I do have their self-portraits, though.... Beautiful. Strange........... I wonder why they have their reunions in Talihina. Maybe I'm overanalyzing. Well. I'll prolly get made fun of for saying this, but when I was unemployed and bored off my rocker I researched the Followill family name in the United States. They were Confederates from one of the bloodiest states in the union at the time: Missouri. Missouri and Kentucky were the serious Brother-Against-Brother states. And the Followills appear to have migrated to Missouri from Kentucky, so it was out of the frying pan into the fire. Heh. A number of the Followills from Missouri branched south into Texas and Oklahoma back when Indians were still scalping people. In fact, one Followill died an atrocious death at the hands of Indians in Texas. I'm thinking it mighta been the Comanche. Those people were terrifying! *shudder* So the Followills were definitely pioneers in that area of the United States. Anyway. There appears to be a branch of Followills that settled in LeFlore County, Oklahoma in the middle of Choctaw Nation. I don't really know anything about their recent, living relatives, but somehow or another their grandparents/great-grandparents musta moved to the city. And that's all pieced together from censuses and land records! I haven't checked with the band, so.
