OK SO THIS IS A QUESTION I WANT PEOPLE TO ANSWER:WOULD YOU LIKE THE STROKES AND KINGS OF LEON TO MAKE A DUET TOGHETER?? Nah - I think it may look a little like one of the cheesy MTV awards-style garage-rock-athons. I also can't think of an example of two really good bands collaborating and the end product being decent.......although I'm sure someone will be able to think of a really kick-ass example and silence my jibber-jabber........

Feel lucky down here in South America it's really expensive, like $10 or $15 US dollars plus the shipping, which sums like $25 US dollars, and that in our coin is $75 of our pesos.

OK SO THIS IS A QUESTION I WANT PEOPLE TO ANSWER:WOULD YOU LIKE THE STROKES AND KINGS OF LEON TO MAKE A DUET TOGHETER?? Ugg no! The mediocrity of the Strokes would drag the Kings down.

no chich you're not missing anything, you can't purchase any of the bsides on itunes with the exception of my third house, only because it came with the cd if you bought it. and I'd rather burn all my hair off before I witnessed the Kings and the Strokes write a song together.

Hmm, I don't know, when the Strokes bring people in for their B-Sides it usually turns out good...Regina Spektor, Eddie Vedder and Josh Homme...I liked both of those songs. But I think in this particular case it would be two many guitars...but if it was just like Caleb singing with the Strokes playing or some other strange variation of the usual lineup, that'd be cool. Maybe throw in a really gritty Nick Valensi solo to a KOL song, I'd like to see it happen just for the sole fact that it would mean that many hot men in one room whilst recording.

OK SO THIS IS A QUESTION I WANT PEOPLE TO ANSWER:WOULD YOU LIKE THE STROKES AND KINGS OF LEON TO MAKE A DUET TOGHETER?? i'd rather have them make a "special" video together. perhaps that was inappropriate, considering the gravity of the serious topic at hand

this is a response to the original thread by fabi castro.
personally, i never download anything from this site because my computer is slow and i don't like to wait. i have bought every single KOL cd and i plan to buy a tshirt at the next show i go to.
but i'm not against sharing files. i think that the internet is a wonderful thing and it's hard to keep everyone "in check" with illegal vs. legal downloads. for the most part, musicians get paid well for what they do and a few slips in the crack (such as us downloading a b-side single from KOL) isn't going to keep them from making enough money to live comfortably, even live wealthy.
i think if fabi castro is dissatisfied with the topics on this forum, then she/he should set up another KOL fan site where the rules are specific and you're only allowed to talk about the music and not about the hairstyles or pant sizes. maybe, if it's how she/he says, this new fan site will be so moral and mature that the band will select it as the new "official" fan site.
in the meantime, i gotta say that i enjoy talking about KOL's hairstyles, clothing, dating lives as an addition to the music. for me, and i'm bold enough to speak for everyone on this forum when i say, the music is ALWAYS first. we don't go to shows to admire their beauty (although that is a big plus), we go to listen to and enjoy the songs we love LIVE.
i'd like to replicate the sentiment that I hope fabi castro's rant doesn't change the mood of the forum. i seriously look forward to logging on and checking up on all the new KOL news as well as all the forum member's lives and everyday thoughts. it's a community and if you don't like it, you don't have to be a part of it.

Now people started something ok to talk... SAR: How do you buy a KOL b-side without having to pay $10 for it? I'll pay a few bucks for it (because I think their b-sides are AWESOME), but not $10 for one song. Any suggestions??? maybe you should ask their management about this. fyi before the internet everyone had to pay that much for a single if we didnt want a fuzzy copy taped off the radio. Trust me, no one ever had to pay $10 for a single! (Unless it was some obscure foreign bootleg or something) $10 = £5 singles in the UK were £3.99 - £4.99 Feel lucky down here in South America it's really expensive, like $10 or $15 US dollars plus the shipping, which sums like $25 US dollars, and that in our coin is $75 of our pesos. Singles are the most expensive thing I buy and I can't understand the prices... But considering 1$ = R$1.80 (brazil) that is not fair. But of course the problem is not mine hehe but my country's government and Bovespa. So considering if I buy something direct from a brazilian store I spent about 60 reais (30$) with one single. That's to much money! (and I still buying) But then I bought "fans" direct from amazon and today received an e-mail saying amazon wont be able to ship my order and if I want they'd try shipping it on october. WTF? So I can't trust amazon anymore and will have to buy another single paying 60 reais for that... It's not fair for both sides.

Sorry to hear about the hassle with amazon, a gaping void was left when Tower closed it's doors...........but tower.com is still up and running, for my money I always use them. So it would be under $20.00 (i think) if you use them for the imports and singles.

(coz its so awsome o'course)..... nd im sorry if i offend any1...im sure i wont..mayb only the person who started this thread...but its fun to look at and share kol pics n to talk about how hot theyre nd the jeans they wear.. ive said this a million times but im so thankful for the peeps on this poatboard coz now i know im not the only kol fan in the world thats interested in kol pics/stories/talking about their music, etc!
