You know why people downloaded Woo Hoo for free? Because there's nowhere else to get it from unless you pay $10 for a single (Fans) that you ALREADY have on the CD that you ALREADY bought. I'm sorry, but to pay $10 for Woo Hoo just doesn't make sense.
I've said this once before and I'll say it again: KOL needs to start selling b-sides in their online store along with the rolling papers. And they shouldn't charge $10 for a single, either. How about selling b-sides for $2-3 each? I'll be more than happy to buy it, just like I buy everything else of theirs.
And I have a new theory: I now think Fabi Castro is really Caleb.

This board has always been part of a fansite and is only linked to from the king's official site. I was never asked and the band didnt know until THEIR MANAGEMENT did it.
if the band or any of their people wanted us to take anything down or delete anything then they know how to contact us and we'd be happy to do so. last time i met up with the band i talked to them about this.
originally the 'share stuff' forum was to share live bootlegs, it was never mean't to be specifically for leaks and i agree that it's not the best of ideas to be 'allowing' people to share unreleased stuff that hasn't been taped at a show.
i don't have time at the moment to moderate this board full time so if people have problems with anything on it they should PM me or one of the other mods.

i don't think it's the people on here you wanna be havin a go at. they are all decent and appreciate the band with the best of respects, i feel that the person leaking the material is the culprit for the bands lack of sales or whatever you want to call that.
I am in no way innocent in this situation i have downloaded their first album and upon that i have downloaded their b sides as i have no intentions to purchase every single record by kings of leon, call me a half arsed fan or whatever you want but my decision is that and I'm happy with the albums that i HAVE purchased, which are all 3...
So what I'm trying to say is, i think you're attacking the wrong crowd in this instance and making someone out to be a criminal for their actions of posting Woo Hoo... it's only a song mate, relax. I love the band and as much as I would love to go out and buy every song I don't feel it to be utterly needed. I'm pitching in with my ticket, t shirt. you name it. I've pitched in quite a bit.
Besides my friend, I know passion does hold a strong stand when it comes to a band you adore but don't get too wild with that statement, you make it sound like KoL are on the brink of Bankruptcy. Which I would most definitely say is not the case! We all love the band here, we are friends in some kinda way I suppose and each has their own opinion but don't get too emotional about this whole circumstance, it happens everywhere unfortunately, with all bands now, with all music.
So that's the way it goes, but I actually take it as a positive thing because bands do get promotion in a way from downloaded content, whether that be illegal or legal. If you aint made of money and you hear a song by KoL, on the radio, then immediately download the song on a P2P program and really dig that song, then you may end up buying yourself a ticket to a gig therefor KoL have made some revenue. Even if the person has downloaded every single album with no intention to buy anything, KoL have made something out of nothing.
Ok I guess there's always gonna be people who just download and download and download but... hmm it makes us wiser, with music, makes us learn... it gives us a better understanding of the bands we really do like. I guess you could spend all your money on albums but not everyone has the same financial background.... so just go easy on the whole thing, it's not as bad as it seems really.

Fabi Castro made a few good points, and now I feel really bad about making that post about their tight pants. I wasn't making fun of them - I LOVE THIS BAND!!!! I'm just interested in what they wear and want them to be healthy and comfortable...I didn't mean for people to talk about their packages for 3 pages.
I also didn't think the band read any of these, but if I'm wrong, and they do, then guys I'm really, really sorry for saying you need to loosen up your pants.

I'm sure if they really are reading this stuff, and can [hopefully] obviously see everyone is just joking around 99.9% of the time, they really wouldn't care...they might even think some of it's funny.

I find Fabi's post very disheartening and offensive because I consider myself to be a true KOL fan. I never illegally download music from any band because I feel that it is a disrespect to an artist's hard work, regardless of whom the band is.
Secondly, everything that is said on this board is all in jest and is strictly within a jovial manner. Anybody with an ounce of sense of humor can see that the jokes we make, pertaining to the band or to each other are solely for fun and are never meant maliciously. I have never met a KOL fan that I did not like and get along with. That is what's so great about KOL fans.
Who is this person to judge us on our words? That is what's wrong with society today. They take things way too seriously and literally. Hell, even the band makes fun of themselves. Shit, me and my friends rag on one another all the time and again...we do not hurt each other by it.
Lastly, lets not one person's post ruin the spirit of the board. When it comes down to it, we are here for the amazing music that they make, not the way they look or dress. They could be four obese men with harelips and I would still go to their concerts and cheer them on.That's how fucking talented, gifted and amazing this band is to me.
That's all you will ever saying about this post again.

In fact, Fabi was able to express her or his ideas well and thoroughly. We all understood everything that was said even though the grammar was all sorts of screwy. I'm sure that if Fabi wrote this essay in whatever language he/she speaks it would have been very smart. The fact that he/she wrote it in a language that was not their own in the first place is commendable. But, I'll admit that it did make me giggle at first.
