it well pisses me off when people in bands are rude. its like we're the people who buy your records with our hard earned cash, we buy tickets to your shows and merchandise which allows them to tour and make more records which they "love" and "live for". so the least they can do is pose for some pictures or say hi!! When you buy a record or tickets to their shows or merchandise, that's what you're buying: tickets, a record, merchandise. You are not buying their respect. The transaction includes exchanging money for goods and/or services. You're not guaranteed a photo with the band. I hear people say this all the time, and it's not a very good excuse. If you say to them, HEY I've spent $600 on you guys, well... you already got what you paid for. You didn't spend $600 on meeting them and getting a discussion. You bought records and merchandise—period. And that is absolutely 100% impossible to do all the time. But Caleb didn't tell the gentleman in question to "fuck off." In fact, the gentleman in question is less irritated than a lot of the people in this thread. From what I understood when I read his post, he asked Caleb for a photo, Caleb swore to himself, begrudgingly posed for the photo (which he didn't have to do!,) and then left. He didn't get in this guy's face and shout "FUCK!" to him. It sounds like he said "fuck" out of exasperation. Has no one here heaved out an expletive when at work? (Well... unless you're a minister or something... lol) I agree wholeheartedly with ro and skatf. But I would probably be defending them like everyone else if I hadn't seen Caleb's pure rudeness for myself. Noone wants to admit that they're fav band is full of assholes (not really, just mostly Caleb). popsie, I thought you were feeling better. Apparently you're still mad. I'm defending Caleb here. I think he had a bad day. I don't think he did anything really terrible to this guy. He definitely wasn't pleasant, but I think it's getting blown outta proportion. Annnnnnd... I hate to bring this up, but I've seen a whole lotta rudeness from this band. From Jared in particular. I got it documented. (But I'm never ever gonna post it.) And it was personal. And it was 1000 times meaner than what Caleb did. And y'know what? In the end, I found that Jared was having a really bad day. The guy lost his cool, but he's got a really good heart. They're good people who get pushed to the edge and say things they don't mean. I seen the ugly side of it, and I forgave 'em. It's ri-fuckin'-diculous to expect them to sign everything and stop for every picture. Give them a break! (Nothing personal to anyone I quoted! I don't hate anybody here. I'm just trying to make a point.) While its sweet that youre giving Caleb the benefit of the doubt...I still think your defense that he was 'just having a bad day' is insufficient. So what he had a bad day. His bad day compared to the normal Joe is probably so inane. What? He had a shit sound check? That girl wouldnt put out? His hair isnt quite up to his Caleb standards? He got a bad gram of cocaine? The fact that he cant feign being polite is horse shit. Im not saying he has to carry on a conversation with every fan, but an after party...come on! I know the american parties dont usually bring out the "elite" like they do in UK or whatever, but come on...the fans that come out when they tour fucking bumfuck middle america are probably better fans than the socialites hes currently swapping STDS while touring in England. *nudge nudge WINK WINK* Show some humility, 'Leb. For an impotent 25 year old...you're kind of an asshole sometimes! xoxo hoodratz

Okay, yeah, everybody, group hug! No hard feelings. What Jared did...?... lol Errr.... Ohhhh... I don't wanna talk about it. Let's just say he lost his temper, then I lost my temper, and after a few months, I swallowed my pride and offered him a metaphorical friendly handshake. Which he accepted. Jared, despite his temper, is a very good guy. He's noble. People lose their tempers and get fed up and say things they don't fully mean. And that e specially goes for rock stars, cuz they've gotta have one of the most stressful jobs on the planets. Plus, the Followills are genial 99% of the time. That's amazing for a rock band.

The fact that he cant feign being polite is horse shit. You think that's all he has to deal with?? First off, they have terrible circadian rhythms from living the way they do; it's unhealthy to move around and have such an unstable life. Along with that, they're getting beer, drugs, and girls thrown at them, even when they don't want them. Plus, they miss the people they love at home. All of that combined is gonna make them feel gross. On top of that, they're roped into this lifestyle. They have contracts they have to uphold. They have to worry about whether their records will sell. They're constantly marketing themselves and constantly selling. Constantly doing press and photo shoots and whatnot. They have to make things work out well all the time or they may not have a chance at a next record. That's the way the business is. He's not just out there whoring around. (Although yes, I think he prolly does his fair share of whoring.) There are a lotta perks but a lotta stresses, too. And yes. I think he was just having a bad day. How perfect are you? EDIT: I hate fighting!

I think everyone should drop the subject of Caleb being rude he had an off day, big shit, get over it! yeah it may not be nice if your were the fan he may have been rude to, but that's life, shit happens. Personally I would be pissed, I admit, but I wouldn't hold it against him, he was tired after a long days work, and it is work at the end of the day, its not all fun and games

they are probably 5'10" - 6' tall, but as far as knowing and getting in an after party, just like hoodratz said ask around. Actually ask around all the people that were at the front of the concert (where you should be anyway, lol) they usually know the scoop. BTW, MoonageDaydream, I love Bowie and that is one of my favorite songs. love the line "squawkin like a big monkey bird" I got into the after party because I knew the guy throwing it,he's a friend of mine from Diesel Austin. Also, he said "fuck", like it annoyed him not "fuck off", that would have been rude towards me. It seemed like they got paid to be there at the bar. There were flyers saying that they'd be there after the show, so I'm pretty sure they were there because they had to be not because they wanted to be. I didn't see Jared until I left the bar. Didn't see Nathan at all. Mathew was really nice and hung out and had a drink with me. Also, when my girlfriend asked for a picture Caleb didn't say anything to her, just posed and walked off. We didn't take up but maybe 30 seconds of his time, but I guess that's too long when you're a HUGE rock star.lol! Julian on the other hand was so polite and put his arm around me and said,"I hope you like the show."-like he was nervous. He seemed like a genuinely nice person. I'm 5'10", they're that tall.

Plus, the Followills are genial 99% of the time. That's amazing for a rock band. A brain surgeon has a stressful job - not someone that is obligated to go to aftershow parties. Again, I would like to stress that I would never judge his character on the basis of this incident (although by all accounts this most definitely does NOT seem like the first time he's behaved like this). On the other hand, some of the excuses that people have come up with have been absolutely ridiculous. Come on - he was rude, it was out of order, let's all move on.

I don't know why everybody thinks the Kings live such great lives. I think they're miserable half the time. A brain surgeon prolly lives a lot longer and doesn't end up looking like Keith Richards when he hits middle-age. Rock star life is hard on the body and the mind. I cut 'em slack for that. I spose it depends on what kinda fan you are. Others may not cut them any slack at all. The whole situation was blown outta proportion, and this argument isn't going anywhere, so... I'll drop it. 'Leb's on his own. EDIT: Although... if he had said "fuck" to me in the same situation, I prolly woulda been a bitch right back at him. Hehehe.

Don't you think it's a bit too much for you to say this? I mean, do you have tea with him every day at 5 or something, 'cause you gotta know a person to make such statements, and I'm sorry, I don't like fighting either, everyone that knows me here knows that I'm quite easygoing and all but I won't take this kinda shit. If he was rude, he was rude, period. He's a fucking human being, for fuck's sake, what did you expect, Jesus? Fuckin' hell even Jesus got mad! Let's cut this crap now. I'm dead tired of it, and sorry, I don't mean to offend anybody, but really, who the fuck do we think we are?
Mods I've never requested this and it's fine if you don't think so, but I think this thread should be closed, this is a Fans Forum, for the discussion of their music, not the discussion of their personalities and less if we're going to start talking shit, this is very insulting to Caleb.
