I heard about them just after the Holly Roller Novocaine was released..round about 2003 ish. Always loved their music, but I didn't see them live until this year after their Aha Shake Release. Got to meet them before the show for a "meet n greet" through the radio station. The show was beyond anything I have every experienced...something quite intoxicating, and drug like. After that night I was hooked, having finally seen what they looked like (all of em yummy), and what amazing musicians they are LIVE...Im addicted. Went to another show in April or May (can't remember) that was small, and hot, and kick ass, then we got to hang with them til they had to leave at 3am...drunk on the kings and JD we all went to the hotel with some insane memories...Then, went to Bonnaroo this year, and we managed to get by security and meet them again, see Nathan clean shaven. Now, my friends and I are road tripping for three more shows this weekend...and Im keepin my fingers crossed for some more good times. The Kings of Leon are, without a doubt, one of the greatest bands ever to exist, and will remain so throughout time.

that is not cheesy! first time i saw them was on june 27th 03, at birmingham academy 2. and i always describe it to people and myself lol, as the night i fell in love. it was just brilliant, they totally blew me away, and i just wanted more more and more! and i caught a drumstick and they came out to meet people after, and all in all it was just an amazing night. i dont remember much about the actual gig though, except caleb saying that the next song was called spiral staircase, and people cheered but id never heard it before as yaym wasnt out, and i thought it was great!

That's totally awsome!! I copletley forgot, I know I said the first time I saw the Kings was at a Strokes concert, but the first time I heard of the Kings was at Lollapolooza! They played a side stage, and I had never heard of them before, and the people I went with all wanted to see the Donnas, so I watched them instead!! How fucking dumb!! I can't even believe that horrible mistake, I will be kicking my self forever over that one!!
The Donnas, I mean really!!!

The KOL are still rather new to me!! I was working in London for a month in April of this year. I stayed with my older bro. Anywho, it took me two hours everyday to travel to and from work. My Brother being a complete angel said i could borrow his ipod for my lonely tube rides. That's when i came across KOL. They totally blew my socks off... ( i just recently found out what they looked like... and that totally blew my knickers off.. lol).!! I usually listen to stuff like L. Zep, Bowie, Stones, Dylan... I have a bad habit of not giving new bands a chance, which i am now going to start to do because look what i came across! Seeing them in Glasgow and Reading woohoo!! n.b I have never seen them perform not even in a music video... how sad is that??? hahahahahaaha i live on a small Island with a population of less than 400,000, they are pretty much unkown here... I'am a journalist, so i plan on writing a feature on them when i see them live next month, so i can spread the love ...

First time I saw them they were supporting the Strokes in Sydney. I hadn't even heard of them!! They blew me away on stage and I even said to my brother I don't want to see The Strokes now!! Then we went to Big Day Out and they were playing there, I didn't get to see them as I was watching Muse and couldn't make it over and back to the main stage in time. I then saw them in December 2004 in London and again this June, I also was lucky enough to meet them after the gig. I really want to see them again, 3 times is good but my friend Beale is up to 4 times in 1 1/2 years!!!

The first time i saw them live was this year, at Leeds Carling Weekend. My best friend is a massive fan and i pinched her cd's last year and was hooked. It was her birthday on the sunday of Leeds so it was great that they played on her birthday even if we did get kicked and punched a bit.
She didnt know she was going to Leeds either, her sisters suprised her with a ticket and i suprised her at a service station with a few more friends (who also love KOL now)

KINGS OF LEON; I was looking through some magazines and saw a picture of them. Two of them had beards(Caleb and Nathan), the other two looked really young(Matthew and Jared) and they all had bushy 70's style hair, infact they looked straight out of the 70's. I laughed. A couple of weeks later I was sitting in maths class, really bored. I started talking to a friend about music and she wrote down a list of songs that she recommended. One of them was "Molly's Chambers" by KOL. I got home and downloaded the songs my friend gave me, along with "Molly's Chambers" The song blew me away. I loved it. I danced my ass off to it. Then I downloaded a couple more of their songs. I loved everything I heard. They were something different and I'd never heard anything like them before. Caleb's voice really grabbed me, so deep and husky, especially for a 21 year old, as he was at that time. I went out and bought their album "youth and young manhood" The lyrics were clever and the music was raw. The opening song was "Red Morning Light" a song about a premiscuious girl who lets men take advantage of her; "I hear you blow like a feather and then they rub it in your face, once they've had all their fun, hun, you're at the bottom of your cage" Great start to the album, really got me hyped up. The album covers most topics known to man. One song "Joe's Head" is about a man who catches his girlfriend in bed with another man... so he shoots them both in the head. "Holy Roller Novocaine". Based on a true story about a priest who seduced women in his congregation. The song has a catchy bassline and intelligent lyrics full of innuendos. I admire how amazing Caleb is as a lyricist, he uses words for different meanings on purpose to confuse the listener and keeps them wondering. I love the fact that he is thee most talented and beautiful man I have ever met, but he doesn't know it. I admire his insecurities. Yes, that may sounds strange, but I find it admirable that he's so talented but seems pretty insecure and shy on stage(and off.) I never got a chance to see them live on their first tour because the tickets sold out so fast November 2004 Aha Shake Heartbreak was released. I bought it the day of release. The album, just like the first blew me away. I love EVERY single song, I have ever heard by them. And I can't say that about every band I listen to. Their songs have helped me and continue to do so. Whenever I'm feeling low, I put on one of their albums and it makes me smile. I dance like crazy and my feelings of discontentment, disappear. My dark thoughts fade away and I'm lost in the music, just me and the band. Even if it just lasts for the song- For those few minutes, I feel good, I feel alive, I feel beautiful. I had the pleasure of finally seeing the guys play in June. I met them after the show and they are such sweet and friendly guys. Caleb was witty and just plain lovely. They stayed out in the cold until everyone had something signed. I seen them again at a one off extra show in August. I love their music and I love the way it makes me feel. (sorry that was really long, and I don't think I was successful in conveying how much they mean to me, but I tried.) [/size]

You nailed it pretty good, thanks BTW, I saw them open for U2 three times but now I finally get to see them on their own in October in Alabama and Tennessee I am very excited about this adventure I will be going on, making a road trip out of it !
