The first time I heard the name kings of leon was when I bought tickets to The Strokes concert in San Francisco, 2003. The strokes were the ones who showed me the way!! The kings opened for the strokes after Regin Spektor, and they blew me away! I couldn't believe what I saw!! They were awsome, I had to get there album ASAP!!
After, the show we ran into Jared and Matt, and smoked a little grass with them! They were pretty funny! Nathan and Caleb came out later, Caleb quickly hopped on the bus, he was very shy and nervous!! It was fucking great!!
We wanted to meet Julian of the strokes and Jared told us that they were riding with Jules to LA, and he was coming out later, and sure enough he did!! Jules was awsome also!! The rest of the strokes took a plane to LA that night but Jules is affraid to fly so he said he was going to bus it with the Kings! It was a great they had there facial hair and 70's country look with there shit kickers on, and Jared looked like a 12 year old kid he was so small and tiny back then, but boy did he grow up!
From then on I have been HOOKED! I went to the New Year's Eve Show in Las Vegas and again they opened for the strokes and they blew the strokes off stage they were so good!!!!
We stayed at the same hotel they all did called The Venetian, and had lots of fun playing cards and drinkin champagne!! It was the best time ever!
At the time I was living in Sacramento CA and We drove the whole 9 and a half hours back on three hours of sleep and listen to nothing but the kings the whole time, and every time I listen to that album it always reminds me of new years in las vegas!

Yes, I have. Oh well, my english sucks but I'll try. *lol* So the first time I heard about the Kings was in 2002 I think. I read an interview about them in some music magazine. I remember that I thought Matt is pretty fat, Jared is damn sweet, Caleb looks pretty strange and Nathan ... ah well. *lol* All in all I thought they're quite weird. *HaHa* Yeah... And I didn't do anything. Two years later in November: I read something about them again and remembered the funny article in the music magazine two years ago! *lol* I decided to buy Aha Shake Heartbreak, I found it just awesome. Music I never heard before. Milk was the song that impressed me the most, Caleb's voice and the instruments, everything. A few days later, on November 11th, I went to their Berlin concert with one of my bestest friends. It was superb. I stood right in front of Caleb and yeah, I think he looked at me pretty often! *lol* Maybe it was just imagination, but I like to think it was real. Unfortunately we didn't get the chance to stay after the concert because my parents wanted to go home (they drove us). And I was pretty pissed off because I had no camera. I had the best place and no camera, I was so sad. But that's ok with me now. I still have the memories. Yeah, and in January I bought Youth And Young Manhood. My Dad and I listened to it in the car right after I bought it. We laughed a few times because of Caleb's voice at certain parts of certain songs. *lol* ("sh eee") Yeah, that's it.

That's a great memory! I think the youth and young manhood album is great for road trips!!!
How many times have you seen them play? In america they are not that popular so they don't tour here as much? I have seen them around eight times so far, and the last show I saw them at was just last Friday and Saturday.
They played in Portland on Friday and then we drove up to Seattle to see them there!! Then after the show we ran into Nathan and Caleb walking around downtown with Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam!!
I wish good stuff for them and hope americans catch on, but then I hope not because I don't want to have to see them at an arena show, that would totally suck!!!!
There is nothing like a great club gig!!

Ew, Eddie Vedder... Yuck! But the rest is nice to read! The Berlin Gig was the only KOL show I've been to so far. But if they don't tour over here, what should I do?! *lol*

The first time I seen the Kings I was 16 and they were opening for the coral. I was there early and I was walking up to the venue and I see this figures with a lot of hair from a distance. I thought it was girls waiting in line and I was kinda mad cause I wanted to be first in line. The closer I got the more I realized it was the Kings trying to hail a cab I got them to sign the EP because the record wasn't out and Caleb told me how they where in LA the night before and how hungover they were. Then he yelled at Matt to come sign my record because Matt was standing in the street trying to find a cap still. Then I said bye to them as they hoped into a cap.
I rocked out to the songs I knew during the show and I remember there not being that big of a crowd. I got a set list and tried meeting them again afterwords but Nacho said they were inside getting drunk and that they wouldn't be coming out. At least he was honest. I left after that and didn't stay to watch the coral.
