After seeing how many members are from varioud countries and locations around the world I was just curious how popular Kings of Leon are where you live? I am from New England and they still play somewhat small venues, but it seems like to some of you 2500-3000 people is still considered intimate. Let me know your thoughts!

To be honest your lucky if you see them in any venue that hold less than 2500-3000 people. I saw them for the first time in Belfast over two years ago, when they headlined a mini festival there. There was about 15,000 people at that gig, although I was still able to get to the barrier. I was extremely lucky to see them in Paris in June, where I believe the capacity was around a 1000. That's been the smallest crowd I've seen them play to.

They are one of the bigger bands I listen to here, but that might be because I'm from Wisconsin and I listen to pretty much exclusively British music (finding a Libertines fan in small town Northern WI is impossible)...I'd say that on my campus maybe 1 in 5 people know them, but that gets a lot less in the real world seeing as college students tend to have more evolved musical tastes than the lay folk.

I'm originally from Tennessee, but moved to NY a few years ago. They have a cult following over here, but thankfully they are still relatively unknown in these parts. Thankfully? Im sorry but you cant call yourself a KOL fan if you think that. It doesn't matter if all your friends and people in school ,who only follow popular music like Fall Out Boy and Rhianna, start to like KOL simply because their on tv all the time ,then it shouldnt matter. Just because you liked them first doesn't give you any claim to them - or the right to call KOL sell-outs. If KOL became the biggest band in the world then i would be delighted for them - because they deserve it. Otherwise - your being selfish and arrogant. Look - i have a friend (Andrew) who was always a massive Biffy Clyro fan - ever since their first album. He told me about them and even burned me their second album to see what i thought of them. Why? Because he wanted someone to share and talk about Biffy Clyro with. Obviously Biffy Clyro have recieved massive airplay recently and are moving into the mainstream. I went to Oxegen with him and when we saw Biffy Clyro, and even though their were alot of loyal fans, - their were alot of scenesters their who talked during the whole gig and payed no attention to the music at all. I only have two friends who truly love music - the rest are just scenesters, and when we all got together last week to go to a club, one of my scenester friends played Biffy Clyro 'Folding Stars' on his mp3 phone as loud as he could. The rest of my scenester friends all loudly exclaimed how they loved this band. So i innocently asked them to name another song but, of course, they couldn't. They then spent the rest of the trip to the club talking about how good Biffy Clyro were. After we got of the bus i asked Andrew how he sat through that journey where the others bragged about finding Biffy Clyro without laying into them. He just shrugged and said 'If you really love something - you can let it go'. At Oxegen meet fans of Biffy Clyro (decked out Biffy Clyro t-shirts) who called the band 'sell-outs', and that they had been real fans of the band. As far as im concerned, Andrew is the best fan Biffy Clyro - or any band could ask for. So thats when i realized i had to be a fan like Andrew - and not the people at Oxegen. ps - that night at the club Andrew went with a girl he had secretly fancied for years - What goes around....

In the small town I live in, they are not very popular yet. I have been trying to change that. I give out cds to people I know that are very into music. A friend of mine was very impressed with BOTT. He buys cds constantly, and said BOTT was in his top 5 for the year. If you knew him, you'd know that that was a pretty impressive ranking.

Problem is they just re-released the album with an extra disc. no need to hand out KOL discs though - all my friends tell me how much they love Fans

I'm in Tulsa and have seen them 3 times in 2 diff cities with crowds of a couple thousand at most. i'm a little stingy with turning people onto them except for my friends that are true music lovers. only because their popularity decreases me being able to get a good view at the shows. they definitely had a larger crowd on the BOTT tour vs. the AHS tour here in Tulsa. (but still pretty small to where they were hanging out with folks after, etc)

Man, I didn't mean it like that. I guess it came out wrong. I guess I just like it when bands are more low key and being in the industry myself. I just have firsthand experience with what goes on when you forsake your creativity for your art. Do not get me wrong, I think that KOL deserve all the respect and accolades for their well earned accomplishments. I just hope that when they become huge, which I have no doubt in my mind they will, that they do not lose what made us love them in the first place. I don't like anyone making preconceived notions of who I am based upon one comment that I made, but it's all good. No hard feelings. I can understand where you're coming from...

They have gotten bigger here in Aus over the past year or so, basically since they opened for Pearl Jam, which i guess, was an awesome PR move. More of a cult following though. Not to big though. Still sell out shows if they come down here.

KOL are very popular and concerts are always a sell out in Glasgow, Scotland. think the capacity is around 4000? dunno the exact, but for a small city that's ok.

I only really know of 3 people who have heard of KOL, 2 of them are big fans and going to the Brisbane show with me- having said that i live in a rather small town, far far from anywhere. i'm sure their much more well known in the big cities. (its not really that far from anywhere - i exaggerate )

I think they're relatively wellknown here in Belgium. The most recent shows have been at our biggest festivals though. But earlier they always played in the AB, which has a capacity of about 500 people I guess, and I'm pretty sure they'll play in something like that too next time they come over, it's not that common to let 'rockbands' play huge domes or something. Unless we're speaking about U2 or Metallica, lol. I reckon they'll get more popular now, cause they released Fans as their new single here, and they can't stop playing it on the radio.

I never heard Fans on the radio. I want to hear it too! They probably play it on Studio Brussel I guess .. But you're right, they're starting to become more and more popular over here, seeing as how there were massive crowds watching them at both festivals they played here. It stills frustrates me when my friends reply my speeches about KoL with: 'You mean that band with the cute bassist?' Uh, yeah, that band .

Kings of Leon have officially become the biggest rock band in Ireland, everyone knows them and loves them. Its kinda weird, they've transformed from one of those bands only i and a few others in school knew about , to the band everyone (and by that i mean people who only know a song if its in the top 10) brings up in conversation's about music
