I liked the On Call vid - it was simple but atmospheric, like the song.
I know i said it about McFearless too, but a live vid for Fans is the only way to go!

charmer would be a good single it would through the KOL half-fans right off... Black Thumbnail I reckon...I know most people probably expected that but it's a bloody good song... Arizona's a good song but not a good single do you think? I agree with you. I think all of those would be great singles...but I never understand the whole process of choosing the singles. I would be so damned excited if it were Arizona...but I doubt it will be. |

hey guys, Im kinda new to this whole posting board thing but I thought I'd just jump in now! Fans is great for a single, but I'm kinda confused ow, I volunteer at a radio station and the Powers that Be have just added Black Thumbnail on high rotation- is there any chance thats still in the running?

No idea if "Black Thumbnail" is in the running, but I've heard it on Internet radio and a friend mentioned she heard it on some Seattle station. So people are playing it -- maybe the band should take its cue from this.
Funny, I figured "True Love Way" would catch on!

Yeah I had heard a couple of months ago on the Zane Lowe show that the second single was going to be fans. I have to say it is one of my favourites and will go down a storm in the UK. Better snap up those arena tickets guys, cause once they release fans I dare say there will be the usual jumpers on the old bandwagon, who claim they love KOL after one song and make it a nightmare to get any tickets in the future!
Oh yeah and it is the perfect song to have a footage type video with clips from the shows and ahem..........fans!

9TH OF JULY!!! that's way too long to be waiting for the next single, by that time all those stations that are loving this "rad new band" will have played 'on call' to death, ruined it for the true fans and have moved on to the next big song!

^ By the time Fans comes out, this Rad New Band will be a Badass fuckin Band. Fans is so different than On Call. Its a composition...not a hit. It shows how deep they can get. But thats just me.

It seems like Fans would do great in the UK, but I'm not sure if it'd work here in the US. It is pretty accessible but I just don't think it'd catch on that well. I'm still hoping for Black Thumbnail as the 3rd single, because that would be the best track to work in the US. That could get them so makny new fans. If they were going to do a slower song, it'd have to be Arizona. True Love Way just wouldn't fit as a single.

your slow ballad single is never anthing but the third single. so if arizona were to be a single it will be after fans.

I have a feeling they'll only ever play Fans in the UK, seeing as it's an ode to those fans. But I hope they prove me wrong (or maybe they've already played it here?).
I also have a feeling (maybe wrong) that Fans will be their UK single and Black Thumbnail or McFearless will be the US single.

Im glad they chose Fans as the next single - its brillliant. Although I always thought it would be a UK only single.
Also i seriously doubt Arizona will be released as a single (brilliant a song as it may be), because McFearless seems to be perfectly suited as a single

The only problem I see Fans having, is it is really hard to make out what Caleb is saying for the novice listener. For all of us on here, I am sure 99% of us know the lyrics by heart. I think BlackThumbnail would make for a better single in th US.
