Shut Up. if the guys are that dumb to think that their album won't leak (considering every album released in the past 5 years has) then they are living in a dream world.  If this post makes you feel better and allows you to walk some moral high ground then great for you, but there are plenty of "real fans" here who got the album early and will learn every song so they can scream the lyrics at the top of their lungs after driving hours upon hours to fork over 40 bucks to see their favorite band, buy the album on cd and vinyl, and will continue to buy merchandise and more importantly spread the word about their favorite band thus putting more money into KOL's pockets. Why don't you go sit on your throne and have pity on us impatient wannabe fans. And how do you know it is a great album if you haven't fucking heard it? Welcome to the 2000s...its called the digital age. All albums leak, bands still make an assload of money, and all is right with the world. |

Just because you may fell guilty if you downloaded the album, does not mean you can go preaching on some moral high ground.
If YOU downloaded the album YOU may not necessarily buy the album, but that does not mean others won't! I certainly will buy the album, and i pretty sure hard core fans will also fork out hard earned cash for the album and gig tickets not to mention the countless amount of money making schemes such as merchandise.
Now KOL may feel like crap that the album has leaked, but thats just life, shit happens.
people who join forums do it cos of the Love of the music and to chat to people alike who are also affiliated with the music, all of us in here are fans, don't forget that!

i mean seriously, i will definateley go out and buy the album once its out, despite the fact i already have it.
i was devastated when i heard the release date because im away in rome so otherwise i would have got to hear it untill a few days before i go and see them in april (during which time ill be at school)
personally im glad it has leaked because it means i get to learn the songs and be able to really appreciate them properly when i go to the gig

 this is a KOL loving community who have waited 2 1/2 years to hear some new material, why shouldn't people be able to listen to it if they want to? (the tension is killing a lot of us!!) we might have already pre-ordered the cd for all you know! i'm quite sure all us will be buying it!! have a bit of respect for us next time you post here.

Just because we downloaded the leaked version doesn't mean we're not going to buy the album. If we joined this forum it means we're big fans of KOL and will buy the album for sure. We just want to hear the leaked version until we can physically get the real album from the store.

Uh oh! I'm prolly about to post something that's gonna get me run out on a rail... Ah well! It kinda sounds like fun riding a rail.  thatfollowillbitch, as uncouth as he/she may sound, may have something there. Being that I'm ornery, I've already heard the album. Hehehe... Like just about all their hardcore online fans have. It's too hard to resist the temptation. And then when you hear it, it's so damn good that you can't keep quiet about it! So I'm guilty as everybody else. But... like... it is stealing. Until the album comes out and I buy a copy, I'm a dirty thief. Teehee! And, like, I've heard a lotta people say that it's okay to just download a Kings' album because they don't make any money through records anyway. I dunno about that. That sounds right to me. They prolly don't. But the numbers mean something. When you buy something, you're saying "yes" to the companies that backed that record. It could mean the difference between a band staying signed and a band getting dumped. The number of records being sold. That's really really important! (As I understand it, at least.) We're prolly all gonna buy the album anyway, so it doesn't seem like it really matters. But it really does... There are people out there with monstrous disk space on their 'puters who revel in the amount of pirated records they have. If we all save the record to our 'puters and then jump onto LimeWire or something, those pirates are gonna snap it up. And they're snapping it up from the websites where it's been posted already. It means, by trafficking the downloadable album, we may be helping the thieves who'll badly impact the sales of the Kings' record. They're on the brink of being huge! We need to support them as much as we possibly can! And that means we need to fork over fifteen bucks and maybe even hide these download links and discourage the album from being easily attainable on the 'net. We may be hurting the band pretty bad otherwise. You guys can steal my karma if you want, it's okay. lolol Also, I swear I'm not on a high horse! I'm on more of a large dog. (On an unrelated note, I posted a link to some bootlegs in the share section. Hee hee! The difference, though, is that you can't go out and buy the videos I posted links to. If the Kings ever officially released their performances at Rock In Rio or Glastonbury or something like that, I'd take those videos off the 'net in two shakes of a lamb's tail.) |

hey fuckers... you do realize you're stealing right?? that the band will be devistated to find that it's leaked.... and probably already are. that all you shits are stealing the music that they worked so hard on!!! if you were real fans, you'd appreciate that and buy the album when it came out not steal it before the band you supposedly love can even get it out to you. the real fans will wait and buy the album... or if they've already heard it, they'll buy it anyway to support the kings. it's a genius album and it deserves to get good numbers when it opens!!!! How do you know it's "a genius album"? |

Okely dokely folks. I think Buckaroo is right on this one and although I myself am a dirty thief for the moment I do intend to buy the album when it comes out. I also agree that the band will be very upset to hear it has leaked and I'm sorry guys, I really am. It must be very hard to work on something that hard and then have someone who most likely doesn't give a shit about the band leak it. I wish I had the willpower not to have downloaded it but alas I am a weak person. As Buck said there are folk out there who will just download it and not give a shit about it and that is just sad because this really is a genius album. I am tired and most likely not making sense. I personally can't wait to get my hand in the genuine article because no matter what there is nothing like having the real thing with all the artwork and whatever other goodies they decide to put in there. On YAYM they gave us a secret track and on ASH they gave us the cutest photo of ickle Followills. *crosses fingers* Oh I hope we get a surprise this time too. Yes I am a child, I know heh heh. It's funny cos not having the real thing makes me want the actual album even more, I am practically drooling at the prospect. Anyway April 2nd/3rd folks, mark it in your calender or whatever and support our boys. They deserve all the success because lets face it they are fucking excellent and there is noone else quite like the Kings of Leon.  I know you all will either way.  |

i agree with Buck and Abydos  though it might take a bit longer for their album to reach us here i'd still buy it  but i do think they should push up the release date now that the album have leaked you know like damage control....i don't know what i'm talking about i'm gonna stop typing now |

Aha leaked too, especially since it was out in UK 3 months prior to U.S. release. We had it early too, then I went and bought 3 copies of the cd and 2 vinyl records. Not everyone will do it, but you have to at least by the cd.
You should feel pretty lucky that u have the leaked copy now, and should reciprocate by buying it when it comes out. Like I have to tell u, ITS THE KINGS! You have to!

well i downloaded the album, so I'm guilty as well, and i must admit i did fell a bit shitty afterwards but i am sure as hell going to buy the official, theres nothing like the ritual of going down to the record shop, searching for the CD, buying it, unwrapping the cellophane and then listening to the CD of your favorite band. I also like the smell of the booklet (am i sad or what ) but its the little things that make it so special  i to agree with Buck and Abydos, but hay its to late now |

it's sad but it's pretty much expected that stuff will be leaked now isn't it? i think the real question is who is responsible for it? i think that's more of a betrayal than listening to it before it's out.
for the record i'm gonna buy both formats when it comes out, and i've probably spent about £1k on kol cds/vinyl/merch/tickets/travelling.
i think we should leave this up, at least it provokes debate innit.
oh and don't say f#ckers, c#unts sounds so much better.
