it's sad but it's pretty much expected that stuff will be leaked now isn't it? i think the real question is who is responsible for it? i think that's more of a betrayal than listening to it before it's out. for the record i'm gonna buy both formats when it comes out, and i've probably spent about £1k on kol cds/vinyl/merch/tickets/travelling. i think we should leave this up, at least it provokes debate innit. oh and don't say f#ckers, c#unts sounds so much better. Yeah c*nts is way better and much more offensive. I totally agree, plus, the people who are on here are proper fans who will buy the record when it comes out anyway, probably in both formats, I most definitely will. When was the last time an album was due out and it wasn't leaked? That isn't the fault of the fans, surely if it was managed correctly this wouldn't have happened. You also have to remember that the people on here are the ones who got up at the crack of dawn to order tickets at almost £30 a throw which helped make the shows sell out super quick. Of course people are going to download the album if it's leaked - we have been waiting almost two years for some new material, if anything it's flattering that we can't wait, and surely all the positive comments are worth mentioning? I for one think the album is fantastic and I can't wait to hear some of this new stuff live. These hit and run type messages that are posted are frustrating because it doesn't give people a chance to debate it properly. |

i think youre right sarah...it definitely is sad. i'm waiting this time round, because the bonnaroo bootleg for me ruined the release of aha, just having heard most of the songs and stuff.
and i know i'll get so annoyed at the gig on saturday because people will be singing along and i won't know it. but nevermind...april will come arounnd sooner than i realise! (i hope!)

I agree with everyone saying that the real fans will buy the record when it comes out anyway. I know I most certainly will. As for spoiling the experience of getting the album when its officially released, I personally don't see much issue there. I've found it interesting to listen to the ways the songs have changed from what I've heard on live versions compared to what made the "advanced" album version. The songs have been around for a little while now, and if they had wanted to keep a super tight lid on them they wouldn't have introduced them live. It's the recordings of the proper album that are supposed to be released later, but for those of us who are chomping at the bits to hear every little detail, I dont think the question of whether or not they're going to lose opening record sales is a problem. Casual fans are less likely to go out of their way to obtain the album ahead of time, so it's a fairly safe bet that it's mostly their core fan base who have been scrambling to hear the record early. And who among us wouldn't want to support the band when the album hits shelves?

i have heard the album... b/c it was played for me by the boys themselves.... i didnt download it illegally and then feel guilty, no.
the post was a bit harsh, i apologize for calling people fuckers. seriously.

Well I'm glad that you at least had the guts and common courtesy to reply to your posts and read our comments, and least we know that your not necessarily a "hit and run" poster. But as far as family members being upset, it is out of our control. They should be pissed of with the leaker, not hard core fans as it is inevitable with many leaked Cd's that whoever is a hard core fan, it is way too tempting and too good of an opportunity not to download an album, irrespective of the artist. Whether or not people will by the official is down to them, But for sure people in this forum (me included) will go out and buy it "hot off the press" as it were, not to mention any vinyl's associated with the new album. P.s if you do read this and you do really know them, tell the kings that the new CD is Brilliant |

Most albums are leaked now anyway, with the band having little control over it. KOL should feel lucky to have the fanbase they do, cuz we'll still buy it. Most leaked pop records, I doubt that happens. We need to work on increasing the fanbase in the U.S.

well, the boys are lucky to have such great fans! i'm glad you guys are all going to get the album anyway. i personally will probably buy like 5 copies... just in case.
