i have to say 'm far more excited about them recording in november, which means NEW RECORD NEXT YEAR. finally! someone said it! although i do also very much like the idea of milk being the next single...maybe it will show a slightly different side to their music?? milk being the total opposite to the more upbeat stuff?? yay

yeah i really hope that they get to release it. I think it'll do well as a single... maybe they could re-record it like they play it live. It's such a big song when they play it on tour.

It'd be nice to see it put into a video, but there's no way it would sell as a single, its too obscure and subtle. Especially his singing in the first part, the general public would not accept it. Though yes, it is a very special song. But i say go for it for the fans.

I dont think the Kings care how much it sales. If if does sale its a bonus. But they know its a great song and they want to put it out to show people how good they are.
And on the Alien idea how is the video gonna work.Is it going to be a dress up person, animated of like figures.Interesting to know.
And im hoping for a January release on there 3rd Album. Then I think they may take a some years break after, about 2 years me thinks.

It would probably be the next single in the USA because The Bicket is the current single in the UK. And of course America would get the KOL single first as they always do. The UK won't get it for at least a few months. is that a joke?!! haha! i was thinking the same thing! what the fuck?

Yeah sorta as when you release the album you do the tours etc but after the tours I think they need a break an will take one which will last for some time.
It will be their third Album in 3-4 years they need a break. Some bands only release 3 Albums in there whole time of being a band.

I understand why the record label wouldn't think of milk as a single. I mean it is one of the best songs on the album but not really a single. I think if they were to release it hoping for more commercial success, which would be the label's sole purpose, it wouldn't really do that. But I don't care if Milk is going to make the band bigger, I want to see the Alien Milk Video. Again I live in America so the song wouldn't be spoiled by the radio or tv.

this may be offtopic: so does anyone know what the next single in the US is. Imena the brought out The Bucket, and rarely played the video. and are always playing the music (the bucket, four kicks, and another song), on TV stations. for TV shows (VH1 shows, MTV Shows) hrm. yeah.
although I would kill to see a video for Milk. I could just imagine the cover to the LP/CD,,
MMM.. (haha)

they've posted the nme piece plus a little bit more on nme.com:
KINGS OF LEON are set to gain a new extra-terrestrial friend for their next video.
The band want to release ‘Milk’ as their next single, but revealed it will put them at odds with their record label, so they may just put the song out themselves and make their own video.
Bassist Jared Followill told NME.COM: “We thought about releasing ‘Milk’ as a single, but no one wants us to. So we’re trying to think of a video concept. I kind of have a vision of like an alien leaving earth, a really sad alien, and if anybody rips that video off, I’ll fucking kill ‘em.”
Meanwhile Followill revealed that the band have been writing material for the follow-up to second album ‘A-Ha Shake Heartbreak’.
“We’ve written a shitload right now,” he said. “We may go into the studio in November but we’re writing so much every day. We’ve probably got at least seven or eight songs. We’re really confident and I feel like we write the best song every fucking day. This is kind of the beginning of what Kings Of Leon are to be.”

YES!

I don't think it will do good as a single but I would definately like to see what the hell Jareds vision is for the video.
As far as a record. I someone feel that they are going to tour until November and not release the record until spring of next year (maybe later for the US)... that's my hypothesis at least. The record industry just has a certain way of working that I don't think it will come out sooner than March. In a way, I also do want them to rest up a little too. And making a record in their off time like they did with ASH isn't enough. These boys are soooo dedicated and hardworking its insipring but I would rather them rest then get burned out.

i think they do need a break, like some people have said, their live performances are great but they could be better, but i just couldnt stand having to wait half a year or more, its too much. Thats one of the reasons i love them so much cause im glad that in 3 months ill be able to see them again.
