I'm curious to know - which songs do you think have brilliant intros? Off the top of my head - 3 Hendrix : Purple Haze Voodoo Child (Slight Return) (that is so good) Foxey Lady and it's not amazing but I've a soft spot for: The Strokes - When It Started (just for the "'ow!!' haha I meant 'ah!!' haha no I didn't mean that at all") Go ahead if you want

Led Zeppelin - Over the Hills and far away I love that song, and the intro is so sweet. And I agree on the Hendrix ones

Beck - The New Pollution
It's just so...bouncy and retro-ish. Sets the mood for the song aswell.
I'll probably have more latter.

That is very weird. I always ued to think it was called New York City Cops. But I've been calling it When it started since I that's what it's listed as on my computer and ipod, probably for 18 months?? The titles would have come from itunes, though it's my cd I put on there, not a download. I assumed I'd got it wrong before. But I just found out my old cd and it is New York City Cops on there, so I'm changing it. Why did that happen?? Oh well - still an intro that makes me smile.

New York City Cops is on the UK version of Is This It, with the smell the glove cover. It was released before 9/11. The US version, with the big bang cover was released after 9/11, and Julian had New York City Cops replaced by When It Started, as he thought the song would be insensitive to the people affected by the attacks. How sweet! Aw Jules.... I'm proud of myself for not needing to look that^^ up I can't think of any yet....

How can that not be a good intro? ) ll : Knocked Up Spacehog: In The Meantime (Not overly fantastic, but I love it) The Who: Teenage Wasteland

Fleet Foxes - White Winter Hymnal, for something a little different. It just builds up and up and up really simply, its very effective
And... Fake Empire by the National. Much the same as above.
Red Morning Light, which pretty much does the opposite
Ooo and On The Other Side by the Strokes, because I love the drums
