oh how i love this thread. I don't think i really have much to contribute except i swear by 8 hour cream, it's the best lip balm/gloss i know of. Oh and sunscreen, we all know prevention is the best cure ladies And i always use a heat protectant when i'm blowdrying/straightning my hair

Anyone any hints for the dark circles that are constantly under my eyes! I know smoking doesn't help but concealer isn't either! I read somewhere once that drinking lots of water helps with dark circles.

i've been using that Garnier Eye Roller thing... it either doesn't work or i'm too tired darn, really? that sucks i was super keen on trying it too because i have really bad dark cricles under my eyes, pretty sure lack of sleep is the cure for mine though.

The darkness under my eyes looks better when I'm well rested, but it never goes away. Concealer is our friend!

Being insomniac I suffer terrible from dark circles. I find the only cream that works for me is L'Oreal's Wrinkle De-Crease Collagen Filler Eye [christ, what a gobful!] It's great for dark hollows and the odd little *cough* wrinkle. I don't know what's in it but as soon as I apply some my eyes immediately brighten up, it gives them a kind of airbrushed look.
You can buy it anywhere, Superdrug, Boots, etc., and it's just under £14. Bloody marvellous stuff!

I love this thread! These tips are so helpful. Here are some that I know:
Burts Bees Wax is an amazing lip balm for chapped lips. Crisco is a great makeup remover - hospitals use it to treat eczema too! When I don't want to use lipstick, I mix a little it with vaseline and make a lip gloss instead. I have really dark circles under my eyes because of genetics, so I'm stuck with them forever, but using slices of raw potatoes under my eyes for 15 minutes lightens them a lot!

top tip for sore dry hands (this is gross). Lard. smooth over and rub into hands and leave for maybe five minutes and then wash off with usual soap/handwash. I discovered this while working in a baker's making lardy cakes. Best my hands have ever been.

i need something that will make my poors smaller.... they are like big gaping zit traps Honey works wonders Carrie Its sticky and messy, but I noticed that my pores were smaller and my face was softer the next day. It also helps with zits and their redness. It also got rid of my sore throat at cough last week lol

you can add kosher salt to exfoliate if you want. i add a little cinamon idk why, my mom does it. keep it on at least 20 mins...careful cause it drips and gets messy, but its worth the mess I usually take it off in the shower and let the hot water run it off my face.
and i suggest you keep your cats away lol

thanks! do you know any really good exfoliators? exfoliating is my favourite thing to do, ever. For body Soap & Glory Flake Away is absolutely brilliant!!! mac body foundation is good for covering bruises on your legs/arms too. Arnica cream is also brilliant for getting rid of bruises quicker than if you dont use it! taperjeanjenn karma when I can for that link for cosmetics website Karma for this thread schnucams!! Ive learnt so much already Does anyone know of a good foundation for pale skin?? I'm about the whitest person out (i NEVER tan!) and even the palest foundations turn me orange Thanks for karma;D U could also try prescriptives, they make all the foundations for your own skin colour/type. I havent done it myself but its supposed to be good!! L'Occitane products are really good too and they have a range for all skin types which dont seem to be as perfumed and/or as abrasive as some like Lancome etc! Edit: Thanks to everyone for brilliant tips
