KINGS OF LEON TRIUMPH
KINGS OF LEON have played the first half of their only UK festival appearances tonight (August 27).
The band who have toured the country this summer, but finally played a main stage tonight, at the Carling Weekend: Reading Festival.
Drawing from their two albums ‘Aha Shake Heartbreak’ and ‘Youth And Young Manhood’ the band played a solid set, ending with frontman Caleb Followill paying tribute to the packed crowd.
”Thank all very, very much,” he told the audience. “We really appreciate your support. God bless you all.”
The band played the following songs:
* ‘Molly's Chambers’ * ‘Taper Jean Girl’ * ‘Pistol Of Fire’ * ‘Wasted Time‘ * ‘Razz’ * ‘Bucket’ * ‘Soft’ * ‘Milk’ * ‘Rememo’ * ‘4 Kicks’ * ‘Velvet Snow’ * ‘King of the Rodeo’ * ’Red Morning Light’ * ‘California Waiting’ * ‘Spiral Staircase’ * ‘Holy Roller Novocaine’ * ‘Slow Night, So Long’
Can i be the first to say WHY DIDNT THEY PLAY TRANI?

GUYS I WAS THERE RIGHT IN FRONT OF JARED HANGING OVER THE BAR! hahah i was so jammy i can't remember how i got to the bar but i was there and have the bruises to prove it! Hahah!
They didn't play holy roller novocaine though i was really upset.. but the crowd were singing all the songs it was amazing!
Whoever has sky - can you record the highlights and put them on here or something please pretty pleeease?
Jared was making his funny bass faces throughout the performance into the camera, it was so cute and Matt was really rocking it out and loving the show! Caleb applauded the audience which was really sweet.. actually he was quieter than usual, maybe he was just 'thrown away' by the audience! Haha i wish!
But yes the atmosphere was fucking electric - so many people at the beginning were like, 'oh we're just here for foos, kings aren't gonna be that good' and then after kings played, they were like 'oh my god kings were amazing! I bet they'll be better than foos wow that was amazing!' hahahah i felt so smug in an 'i told you so' way!!
Edit: Nate was blowing bubbles as usual.. AND THE BEARD IS SLOWLY GROWING BACK! He's got a fair bit of stubble that is bordering on a mini-beard!

managed to see KOL at Leeds after Arcade fire had finished, and their set was pretty tight, played Trani and Slow night so long as closers. But seeing bands on the main stage is shit and their is no atmosphere whatsoever, especially when you've just been right at the front in a tent watching Arcade Fire!

i disagree.. i went from arcade fire to the kings..and omg i was amazed! ive been used to seeing them in smaller venues, squashed at the front.. but this time i was right int he centre..in the middle of it all...its just starting to get dark, and the atmosphere is amazing..everyones singing and dancing along, especailly with Milk, the slowere ones...its brilliant...i think the festy atmosphere was great. its a different atmosphere...in a small venue its only their fans really who turn up, but when its a festy its a mix..and i really think theyve got some new fans out of that night!!! (trani was brilliant!!) -
-oh yeah, when i was going to meet some other mates once theyd finished my mate goes to me, 'that bass player is so gormles. his cable came out and he didnt even notice and kept playing then had to get someone to come fix it for him.' i cant remember that, but how dare they insult jared.ha

The lead came out during the end of Trani I think or maybe Slow night So long, sounded good though without the bass, at first i thought it was deliberate. Maybe they should try it on the next record

I don't think they were as pleased with the Leeds crowd reaction. I wasn't really paying too much attention coz I was shopping (priorities!) but Caleb was like "come on, we're Kings of Leon!" trying to gee the crowd up. I was like ooh get you! lol
