Well Art Brut and Maximo Park are art rock bands that have more in common with Bauhaus style European acts.
Arcade Fire are way to instrumental and multi-layered to even resemble the Arctic Monkeys.
The Strokes, Kings of Leon, and The White Stripes aren't even NME bands because they became big with the 2001 garage rock explosion and NME has since adopted them. They all are more based on guitars and poppy hooks than drums and bass rhythms like the Arctic Monkeys
Queens of the Stone Age are hard rock by most accounts...so they aren't comparable either.
The Subways aren't very good, so I'll discount them.
I'm not very familiar with The Maccabees or Shout Out Louds, but from what I do know they are more focused on vocals and less on the instrumentals like the Arctic Monkeys.
To me the Arctic Monkeys are similar to KOL in that it's really difficult to find a band that sounds similar to them. They're both hard acts to copy...they have niches in the market.

I went to see the Nannies again the other night, but the show got canceled because the lead singer passed out drunk and the bass player didn't show up for the gig. fucking crazy bitches. I want my money back!

I heard that the nannie's manager was stealing money from them, but the lead singer and bass player were so wasted all the time they didn't even notice. Now I hear the manager is rich as hell and living on a remote island somewhere in the South Pacific with Caleb Followill, Jemaine Clement and John Kasinski. That's just what I heard........ Also, note to self: never, ever diss the Arctic Monkeys around evilincarnate. And in keeping with the topic of this thread, I've seen lots and lots of bands live but hardly remember any of them

No...you probably shouldn't diss the Arctic Monkeys around me. Since those pre-pubescent boys aren't tough enough to defend themselves I've grown accostumed to doing it for them. Damn my love for Matt Helders.

Some of these I'm not proud of at all...in fact rather embarrassed...but I was young so I guess that can be my excuse: LeAnn Rimes, *N'Sync, Britney Spears, Bewitched, Backstreet Boys, Good Charlotte, Eve 6, Goldfinger, Jet, The Vines, The Living End, Neon, Sloan, The Von Bondies, The Libertines, Radio 4, Kings of Leon, The Secret Machines, The Helio Sequence, Bob Dylan, Merle Haggard, The Used, Underoath (NOT BY CHOICE), Senses Fail (once again...I didn't want to), MC Chris, Interpol, The Streets (the worst concert I have EVER been to). The list of bands I would die to see live or see again is a lot longer

I don't know who either of those are, so...yeah, I have no idea. If you were anywhere close to as drunk as I was at Daft Punk, I could see how that could happen.
Seriously, I was so drunk I walked into a hostel on the way home trying to find a bathroom. To make matters worse my sister didn't know I was drunk (and still doesn't) because I stood behind her and snuck drags from my flask (which was full of 150 Rum). We got seperated during the show, and I sort of kind of remember frantically spazzing out and asking everyone around me for a cigarette. I remember smoking something, god knows if it was tobacco, marijuana or crack. I also remember absolutely raving my brain out. And eventually finding my sister again...and then "walking" back home, getting a call from my equally wasted friend in Boston, some how stopping at an IHOP, and passing out until the morning...when I woke up I was shocked to find out my flask was empty...I guess I drank more of it than I had planned. But wow, that was the most fun I've had in my entire life. And I was able to pass off my delirium as hallucinations thanks to dehydration when my sister asked. She thought I was on ecstasy. Haha, might as well have been.
