haha! it wasn't alcohol, I'll say that much, and I stared at the...I think it was called the cloud gate (that big silver shiny mirror blob thing) for at least an hour. anyway, yeah, Daft Punk was AMAZING! I've never been a big fan, but I was freaking out, those helmets they were wearing were kick ass, I want one...and the lights...oh man... god I'm such a burnout. anyway, so my story, I got your number before we left Joliet, Joilet, whatever the fuck it's called, I just pronounced it toilet with a J...anyway, so we got into Chicago and I made it to a few shows that night, and at Mickey someone stole my phone, right out of my fucking back pocket, so the next day I was looking out for you, and at Spoon I saw this girl that looked like you (now that I look back on it, there wasn't much resemblence, but at the time...) I started shouting your name, and I ran over and started babbling about Satan's Nannies, and posters and all that jazz, and she thought I was a lunatic, but she liked my friend, so she bought us all drinks for "entertaining" her. Like I said, I was pretty jacked up, so I wouldn't let go of the fact that I thought she was you, I was so convinced...gawd, no that I look back on it I'm so embarassed, I made such an ass out of myself. yeah...that's my story

Haha, I wasn't at Spoon, so couldn't have been me...I was stuck in the front of the crowd at AT&T during their set. Someone stole your phone? WTF? Asshole, they must not have been from the Midwest, we're way above that kind of shit. I was tempted all weekend to start screaming stuff about the Satan's Nannies just to see if you were around. I even stole extra wristbands incase I found any of the band that needed ones.

how did you manage to steal wristbands? I had trouble keeping track of my pass, I had it wrapped around my wrist, and friday night I was so drunk that I kept taking it off and swinging it around, eventually my friend just took it from me cuz I kept hitting him with it. Anyway yeah, I don't even know why anyone would want to steal my phone, it's a piece of shit, it's no iphone, that's for sure. I have to go get a new one tomorrow, oy vey

I didn't technically steal them, but I found a bunch of used ones on the ground so I took them and doctored them up so that I could still wear it. Worked like a charm...beer all weekend. Although the flask was cheaper, I was out of hard alcohol at home. But I did hear a guy talking about how they asked him if he was going all three days and just gave him a wristband anyway without checking for id. And I'm positive if anyone that didn't look 12 had gone up and asked for a beer they would have just sold it to you wristband or not...it was so busy they never actually looked for mine.

Yeah, yeah, whatever, you're always right, especially when alcohol is involved. I'll remember that when I go next year...and I think I'm going to go to Bonnaroo as well. I might need to sell an egg to pay for all these road trips, but it'll be worth it.

I have a popup camper we could use...although my mom might not appreciate it smelling like vomit. So I'd totally chip in for an RV...I can bring my millionaire roommate, she can definitely help, haha, and she is the best drunk/pothead in the WORLD.

we aren't even planning on driving it far, my friend came up with the idea of booking one in tennessee a few miles out from manchester and just driving it in from there. that way we don't have to pay for gas. but I kinda want to do a roadtrip with it as well, otherwise it feels a bit pointless

you could come up and pick me up in Madison, that'd be a roadtrip...Southern Illinois is scary than the backwoods of Tennessee...no but seriously, I'm hooked on festivals and I want to make 2008 the year of the roadtrip for me. I'm already planning New York for winter break, Montreal for Spring Break, going to Lollapalooza again, and now Bonnaroo. GLORY!!!

I really hope KOL plays bonnaroo again next year, I know I'm biased, but that was definitely one of the highlites of bonnaroo for me, if only it had rained for longer

I loved when it rained during Muse, it made it seem more of an event for me...yeah, KOL had better play, it's not like it's a far drive for them.

yeah, but I doubt they'll have a new album coming out before then, or that they'll be touring but I can still hope, I mean they did do it two years in a row once (2003-2004 I think?) most bands don't do that though.

Yeah, I know they make it a rule at Lolla not to have the same bands twice...and KOL didn't play the festivals they did last year, but Bonnaroo has repeat artists every now and again, and it's local...and has such a huge line-up I don't see why not. We can dream. Either way, there is bound to be some one amazing. I'm hoping for The Raconteurs, who would possibly have a new album by then...or atleast solo Brendan, he is my tiny Michigan god.

have the strokes ever played any festivals? I'd really like to see them. they're still together right? lol

Yeah, there still together, they just take a bazzillion years between albums, especially now since Nick has kids with his trampwhore of a wife and Albert is busy being groovy on his own. But they do festivals, more so in Europe, but they could easily play one of the bigger US festivals if it worked out for them. I doubt they'll be ready by next year though, Julian is the slowest moving man in rock and roll, literally and figuratively.
