youch, I've struck a nerve with evilincarnate. I knew I would with somebody with the frozen monkey statement. but, yes I did listen to a couple of songs after seeing their name everywhere and not knowing who they were and unlike a helluva lot of other people i DONT think they're that great. but after that bitch-slap I just took I'll give another listen. Don't take my 0 karma. sheeez. checked your bio, you're 19. shocking. that's their demographic for sure. glad they rock your boat. the kings rock mine. What does my age have to do with anything? Just asking. I happen to have been raised on my parents music, so most of my music influences resemble that of a 50 year old man. I'm not the average American teenager, if that's what you were alluding to.

you guys are pretty lucky. i had to discover music on my own, resulting in several shameful musical phases in my life, such as Jewel and a "gangsta thug fo lyfe!" phase

Haha, well, I'm going through my "gangsta thug fo lyfe" phase right now...I've been listening to a lot of grime, but most of it is more grindie, so I'm not ashamed. But I actually listened to solid Beatles for the past 3 days..so it might be coming to an end.

Just a generation gap thing that's all. I gave several songs a listen on Itunes. They must really be amazing live or something. There songs are a little catchy but I didn't drop any $$. But hey, when I was 19 I was going to Pantera, Metallica, Slayer, Motorhead shows and don't really listen to any of that now except Metallica occasionally. I'm sure your taste will change somewhat as you mature. I was raised on R&B and bands like the Who, the Stones, Beatles. Those were good bands. People still love their music. Who knows what the future holds, but I wonder if people will be buying ARctic Monkey discs in 2037. Truce? I promise not to bash your boys again

Truce, haha, I was never mad at you, I just hate that people got pissed at them for the hype surronding them and then judged them on "I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor" (which is probably them at their worst). I don't think they will have the staying power of the Beatles or Stones, but honestly, no band around now will. But the Arctic Monkeys will have the power to pioneer a new brand of music for our decade/generation but honestly, they aren't the kind of band to be around for half a century or anything. They'll have a good run, and I'll keep buying their albums and seeing their shows as long as they keep improving. That's all I can ask.

I mean, whoa...talk about an ethereal experience.

Because I haven't found one that mixes the strong beats with the "barely-sung" vocals and observational lyrics like they do...I think most of them sound like The Libertines personally.
