Mmm, David Bowie would make me happy. I find him intoxicating. That man is my god. Truly...He can do no wrong in my eyes. Has anyone ever seen the move "Labryinth" with him in it? That's my favorite movie of all time.

Haha, I'm a little afraid of Labyrinth actually, but I think it's just the muppets, Bowie is still hot. I think he's the reason I like The Mighty Boosh...because Noel reminds me of Bowie (if he was mentally incapacitated).

morag, i totally agree, arctic monkeys are nothing more than mediocre. i'm amazed at how un-original and boring a lot of popular music is. they're a good example. others are maroon 5 (they're not mediocre but plain horrid). interpol, and a bunch of other bands that everytime I try to listen to them, I think what the f**k? I've always assumed it was an age difference thing. The other "old farts" on here- chi-chi and black thumbnail- would probably agree. But hey, LONG LIVE THE KINGS. They totally rock your socks off! You folks who haven't had the shear joy of live shows are going to flip when you see them the first time!

WAIT...I'm going to represent my frozen monkeys here ...UNORIGINAL AND BORING? Have you ever heard them?? They are way ahead of their time right now. They are mixing hip hop and grime beats into rock music...Matt Helders has an ear for refreshing and original beats that is unrivaled. Alex is an amazing frontman, as he can croon softly, whisper sexily, or start flowing like a crazy mofo in the same song. They are complete innovators and are unlike any other band to come before them...sure they have elements of others, and there are a lot of people copying them now, but don't you DARE say they are unoriginal?!?!? What the hell?
Just because they got a lot of hype doesn't mean that there isn't something behind all of it. God damn that pisses me off.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, you don't have to LIKE the Arctic Monkeys, but you have to respect the fact that they are not just another cloned rock band. They aren't even a rock band at all, they have really started to blur the lines between the genres. Look at their work with Dizzee Rascal on their B-Sides, or their instrumental tracks...you can see that these young boys are very talented.
Psht...bitch please, no one bad mouths my Sheffield boys.

I never really cared for The Arctic Monkeys until I saw them at Coachella this year. Then I gained a whole new respect for them. I bought both albums and I must say, they're not that bad. Not bad at all.

I've loved them since they put out their demos, but they really really improved as musicians over the past year, this last album is such a step forward. The last one is good, but their new direction is really exciting, they are the major innovators of our era I think. (I might also be blinded by love for the drummer).

My one friend from London is obsessed with them. She literally sees them every chance she gets. I should go see them the next time they come my way...

They sound really good live, but they aren't really that exciting up on stage...Nick and Jamie are really nervous and Alex doesn't do a whole lot either. Matt gets into it, but he's limited to just insane facial expressions because he's behind the drum set. They are worth going to see, but I wouldn't consider them amazing live or anything. But, as long as it sounds good/better than on the record I'm not complaining. Not everyone can be a Jack White on stage.

The first time I saw them I made so much eye contact with Matt, we were just about a wink away from eye fucking...but Alex didn't connect with the crowd at all.
(the eye contact with Matt could have been due to the high amounts of creepiness I was exuding due to my love for him...but I stand by the fact that when he started the drum solo on View from the Afternoon and made the ceiling start to crumble he looked at me and laughed, and I laughed back...and the we both sighed lovingly....so, I'm a little delusional, shoot me).

I knew I would with somebody with the frozen monkey statement. but, yes I did listen to a couple of songs after seeing their name everywhere and not knowing who they were and unlike a helluva lot of other people i DONT think they're that great. but after that bitch-slap I just took I'll give another listen. Don't take my 0 karma. sheeez. checked your bio, you're 19. shocking. that's their demographic for sure. glad they rock your boat. the kings rock mine.
