Okay so we all know Caleb is a brilliant songwriter, but which of his lyrics do you guys love? Which of his words are poetry to your ears? Which lines have moved you?
Right now, I can't get over "Fly yourself away from here into the clear" from Frontier City.
It sounds like someone who's been living in a dead-end town all their lives telling a youthful acquaintance to strive for the best, and get out there and make something of themselves in the world. Like saying, you don't wanna end up stuck here all your life, you've got the potential to go places, so do it before your chances disappear and life slips away.
I think that's inspirational. The way he sings it is gorgeous too, obviously.
Am I reading too much into all this? Haha.
Anyway, what do you guys think? Fave lyrics?

Oh i love defently the point in Cold Desert : No one carry my load, I'm to young to feel this old. AHH that honest and simple but it show the way he thinks so much. And it's not only written by him but alson came out of his mouth. So pure!

I agree  I love the lyrics to Cold Desert too. I feel so sympathetic for him when he says 'I'm too young to feel this old'. It just shows what a toll their lifestyle has taken  |

That's true no one in here to post their favourite lyrics. By the way i love the lyrics from Arizona too. It's a great story about this whore he meet in Arizona. A little bit " Bah, i don't like her" but a little bit " Wow she' s sexy on a spezial way"!

This is a tough one. He writes some great lyrics but so often they go hand in hand with the tune.
I don't have a specific line that I'd say is my favourite off the top of my head, just lots of great ones that conjure up pictures.
When I first heard Cold Desert, I thought that line was so powerful too. Its a shame you forget that feeling the more you play the songs and get familiar with them.

You're right about it frequently just agreeing with the tune, but I think what sometimes makes it great is when it agrees with the tune, and says something. And yes, it is "it's sexy", not "I'm sexy" Oh well lol. |
