I know he made a huge impact upon music, and opened many doors for future artists. But I'm not going to cry over the death of an incredibly wealthy man of questionable moral conduct. There are far more important things going on in the world. I'm sure many many people have died today. He wasnt exactly wealthy. He was in debt of over 50 million. But yeah im sure many other people did die today that wont get a mention anywhere.

50 nights at the o2! I don't think any other musician(s) could ever achieve that, I'm glad I got to experience his music, even though I wasn't a huge fan i still feel blessed to have experienced it. He'll ALWAYS be remembered

This was such a shock, but his music will definitely live on and continue to influence artists

The only time I was near being a fan of Michael Jackson was when the Jackson 5 cartoon show was on tv - I was a kid. Having said that I'd say his contribution to music is immense. The Thriller video was a huge deal at the time, absolutely huge. I was at a college party the night it premiered on tv, and it ended early cos people left to go home and watch it.
and it was a good party! and the video was worth leaving the party for - nothing like it before.

WTF? Michael Jackson is dead, I havent heard the news since 6pm (6 hrs)!!!! I am in shock! Michael Jackson was the first musician/singer/songwriter that I was obsessed with back in the Bad days! I remember he played a mammoth concert in Ireland (Cork maybe??) and I was only allowed go if my older bro or sis would go but they wouldnt so I spent sooooooooooooooo long trying to get around it but I was really young so there was no way!! Sad, sad day!!! I think it was in Dublin. My brother went to see him when he played here. He played Cork in '88. Myself and a mate ran up the fields behind my house that night to hear him. It was only across the river from us, my earliest childhood memory

I grew up listening to him because my brother was a massive massive fan.
