WTF? Michael Jackson is dead, I havent heard the news since 6pm (6 hrs)!!!! I am in shock! Michael Jackson was the first musician/singer/songwriter that I was obsessed with back in the Bad days! I remember he played a mammoth concert in Ireland (Cork maybe??) and I was only allowed go if my older bro or sis would go but they wouldnt so I spent sooooooooooooooo long trying to get around it but I was really young so there was no way!! Sad, sad day!!!

So his heart just couldn't beat it? What a Thriller. Oh Tom Someone had to. I didn't like his music. Far more important people have died before.

^^^^ That's a bit harsh Tom!
I went to see an exhibition of his stage clothes a couple of months ago! The man was tiny but the stuff was so cool to look at.

You can't deny that he made a huge impression on every music fan. I'm shocked. Bad was the first album I owned. Life without Michael Jackson will weird.

I liked Dirty Diana and Beat It, but i like FOB's version of Beat It better, and David Cook's version of Billie Jean better too!

pretty harsh tom...
MJ influenced a lot of music artists of today.... rock/pop/rap/R&B/country/ect.... so even if someone didn't like his music you never who he influenced that you do like....

Oh Tom Someone had to. I didn't like his music. Far more important people have died before. I didn't like his music either, but I'm with Dave - if it came on I'd sing along. Its sad news, but I'm not hugely bothered by it. I cried my eyes out when Heath Ledger died, but this doesn't affect me as much

He made the greatest selling album of all time and no matter what your musical taste, that's hard to argue with. He even revolutionised the music video. Thriller turned music vids in to an art form.
I was never a massive fan but do think he was a musical genius. Sad day.

I know he made a huge impact upon music, and opened many doors for future artists.
But I'm not going to cry over the death of an incredibly wealthy man of questionable moral conduct. There are far more important things going on in the world. I'm sure many many people have died today.
