Maybe it was destiny. The Kings were doing great in the last year, but at the same time they did not seem to be entirely happy with the whole situation. I think the reason why Caleb smashed his Gibson wasn't just the sound problems at T but rather all the dishappiness he had accumulated over the last months. Sometimes you need a change in your life. Although he wrote great songs with the old guitar, a new guitar might help him to find a new different sound. I loved OBTN but I miss the "rock songs", how Matt calls them.

Hmm, good point... Don't get me wrong I LOVE 'the night', and its fairly obvious that the differences in their sound have come from differences in production, especially guitar effects. And it sort of seemed like that guitar was the link to the old stuff... Anyway, I don't want this thread to turn into an 'old vs new kol' thread, so I'll shuddup now! Who knows, maybe the new guitar will lead to some more magic... I have to keep reminding myself its just an instrument, its not like he smashed their songwriting ability and musicianship

I was more talking about the stage, when you start writing songs. Just you and your guitar. Sometimes a new guitar can give you totally different flashs of inspiration. Caleb smashed his Gibson after Manhattan right? I posted a vid in the T in the Park Tour section, unfortunately the guy stopped recording when Caleb was walking towards the drums...

It is strange that their are no pictures at all. I just keep thinking that the person that owns that guitar doesnt know how big a deal that guitar is. I just bought a gibson-esque guitar : www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_hbe1335_ii_ch.htmWhen I get it I am going to blast the Kings and rock right out on that thing to break it in. R.I.P 325.

Aviator I am so jealous of you, I'd give my left arm for one of those.. Shame it would be impossible to play it when I finally get it

Cool, very similiar to the gibson. Nah, been playing a while just not good enough to fork out hundreds of pounds on a guitar so when I seen that one I jumped. A nice little tribute to the 325 for me. Do you play a lot?
