i'm not 100% certain... but i know it's older country! (none of this new shit)
i'm fairly certain i've heard nathan metion more "outlaw country" before... stuff like willie nelson, waylon jennings, johnny cash...
i hope that helps

Yeah it might be better placed in the music section I know caleb loves townes van zandt, patsy cline and roger miller. Cant remember if it was caleb or nathan who said they like a george jones song (actually think it was nate) Only reason i remember is cause my dads a big fan. Hope that helps I know caleb has a country album in him and i cant wait to hear it

He mentioned the possibility of the country album in that recent Music Radar interview. Nathan was still going to be in on it. I hope it does materialise!

caleb has a great voice for a country album! and i'm sure he'd write the most beautiful country songs!

They seem to listen to country on the bus quite a bit judging from Nathan's twitter stream.

My mom had an old country record that even had the word "outlaws" in it, and it had all 3 of those and some others too.

I dont think its country but more classic american music - in uk country music would be really naff- but the stuff they listen to is more old school - nathan mentioned skeeter davis, johnny cash etc. townes van zant etc. not mileys dad! or nicole kidmans husband!

country is classic american music, its the assholes like gareth brooks and shania twain that have hi-jacked it and given it a bad name.

Nate mentioned "He Stopped Loving Her Today" by George Jones as one of his favorite songs. They mentioned Merle Haggard's 'That's the Way Love Goes". Neil Young, though not exactly country. Of course Townes van Zandt, Patsy Cline as well.

i think stuff like Neil Young is when the word country broadens to the "classic american music" category... classic southern rock is especially considered more "countryish"

The whole album has a feel of that classic old american sound (you phrased it much better ted), it almost feels conceptual.
