(i dont really know how to word what i'm thinking so i hope that makes sense) i have a past with some serious depression/suicide attempts and i did everything i could to get out of the crappy place i grew up at... so for me this song really fits the way i look at life now lovekolgirl.... i'm from chicago too!!!

^^Lets hope thats all behind you now carrielinn Have to say Knocked up for definite..maybe because i'm a mam, but it really speaks to me. I also love the defiance of it..something that really brings me back to my younger relationships where its just the two of you against the world and good sense. The tempo is perfect and the pain/hopelessness/longing in calebs voice when he does the woah oh oh oh bits almost makes me cry. Revelry, because it sums up men i've loved (and maybe me too ) Happy Alone for that feeling of freedom and youth. (lovekolgirl thats one of my favourite lines too )

I have to say it's Cold Desert. Arizona speaks close to my heart for some reason, but I can relate the most with Cold Desert. All in all it's a beautiful song, but I remember the first time I heard it and how in shock I was when he said the now famous line "Jesus don't love me". I was like: "how can he say that?!" I was raised in the Catholic faith and all my family works for the church and they don't understand why I don't go or work to the church anymore. So they sometimes make me feel guilty. I would probably never say something like that, but sing along with him sometimes makes me feel like I'm taking some weight of off my shoulders and I don't feel guilty about saying/singing it because it's not "really" me saying that. It's a childish behavior, I know, but it helps me. So, thanks, Caleb. I'm trying to not to be a sinner on your expense, sorry (does that even makes sense in english?).

I totallyyy relate to Talihina Sky. sometimes I have days where I think "man, this place is beautiful" and I love all of the little quirks of my small town like the horse farms, and the 7-11 where you'll probably run into at least 3 people you went to high school with on a weekend night. but then there are other days where I hate this town soo much and I just want to leave, but I don't know how to. I relate to the "and I'll be gettin' out, as soon as I can fly" part kind of like me just putting it off. like yeah, I'll get out as soon as I can "fly"... but what "flying" entails? I have no idea

a few actually. i think i relate to frontier city just because i think i feel its all about like finding a new way around things and that and then theres revelry because i fuck everything in life up even though i try not to be a bad person, cold desert just really makes me feel emotional and i cry almost every time i hear it - 'im too young to feel this old' really relates to how im feeling lately, wicker chair seems to make me think about things aswell ' i hate you sometimes...' 'your loosing your precious mind' they really get to me, then i think california waiting also relates in a way as im always trying to change take a step in the right direction and it has the opposite effect in a way 'I'm goin' so fast that I can't slow down''.
it helps in a way that i have songs that i can relate to, helps you to understand yourself more

I can relate to all of them in some way or another, but I'd say the ones I relate to the most are: Knocked Up - I've never been knocked up, nor do I intend to be for quite some time, but there's just something about this song...the way it seems to move and that choking atmosphere, Caleb's emotion and the way they all seem to be singing from experience...man, I just can't express how hard it hits me. Arizona - Another softy that just gets me every time, it's the lyrics, the way Caleb seems so incredulously pained and that amazing riff....aaahh...perfection Where Nobody Knows - I think this is seriously underrated as a KOL song, the lyrics and the way Caleb sings them are just indescribable...it's like one of those summery moments when you realise you're making a memory, every thing seems so imperfect yet so perfect. Talihina Sky - It's been mentioned before, but this for me just represents that kind of teenage lust for adventure and naivety of just wanting to go somewhere, anywhere, having felt that for every day of my life, it's amazing how a few lines capture it. Edit: Sorry for the semi-essay
