My boyfriend and i are making the trek down to Raleigh to see the Kings Tue night. Unbelievably excited, especially after reading the reviews on here.
Just one problem -- an email i got from ticketmaster a couple days ago: Per Artist Request Booth Amphitheatre will NOT permit patrons to bring in the following items: Lawn chairs Blankets Umbrellas of any size Any Food Any Beverages (including bottled water) Weapons Cameras or Recording Devices of any kind/size
Our first reaction was wtf??? I was really hoping to take some pics/videos with my little digicam. Has anyone else run into problems bringing in cameras?
Never been to the venue before, so not sure how strict they are about searches. But this show is all GA, so the last thing we want is to be held up at the friggin gate while everyone else gets their spot on the barrier.
Should we risk it? Any advice about the best way to hide a small camera?

if it were me, i'd totally risk it, turn the flash of your camera though if you do. having said that, i've been to venues before that stipulated no cameras etc and there were loads of people with cameras and flashes every 5 seconds...

Well, their security guy was strict about video stuff, but let us take all the pics we wanted. I'm assuming it's going to be the same really. I think you can take pics, but not "record" things on your camera.

i forget which venue it was i went to but they made it clear NO CAMERAS..and they didnt even check my bag..i totally suggest putting ur camera in a hidden pocket in ur bag..or hide it somewhere on ur body like in ur bra..security doesnt have the right to actually fish through the pockets in the bag and if you hide it well on ur body..they wont even notice it when they do their wimpy pat downs

I'm asking this on behalf of me and Claire. We both have Nikon Coolpix P80 and I'm wondering if we will be let in to the shows in Arizona and San Fran with them. There was no problem getting them in to MSG but Claire had trouble in Paris even though it is not a professional camera, even though it's a bit big but nothing major.

I honestly don't know. If you can stuff it somewhere where they won't notice, go for it, but you'd do better asking someone with more knowledge I think cuz it all depends on who you go to really. One person might say "yay" the other "nay".

I have the same camera and I was frog marched out of the O2 Arena last year (although they let me back in after having a good look at it) I was thinking that I may ring both venues

I would deffo recommend the P80. It's really good for a mid range priced camera!

Thanks for the advice guys. We're gonna try smuggling it in and hope for the best. Leaving in a hour. Five hour drive listening to nothing but KOL = Heaven.

Just to warn you, they do search you, check purses, and sometimes shoes at the Mesa Amphitheatre....Lame I know.. i went to an MCR concert there with a friend, and she got her camera past security in the front. during the show though, she was taking pics and a security guy came up, took the camera from her hands, and smashed it on the ground. since we were both shy young girls at the time, we did nothing about it. still pisses me off to this day that we didn't tell someone.

If someone did that shit with me, I'd make a big stink. It's one thing to take a camera away, but to break it? That's over the line. Lawsuit or at least some sort of compensation would be in store. I'll personally make sure that doesn't happen this time around.

I'll personally make sure that doesn't happen this time around. it was WAY over the fucking line. my friend didn't want to make a big deal out of it and i sort of went along with it. i mean if that would have happen now, i don't know what the hell i would do. i'd probably get so upset to the point where i would have to be escorted out of the venue. yeah, it wasn't really a fun night after that lol. if only i had the balls then...

I personally don't see the big deal with cameras. If I was in a band, I wouldn't care less if people were recording me. *shrugs*
