I thought it was stressful too KOL made up for it though You thought Knocked Up was bad? I really liked it Oh well! Hope you had fun! I thought Knocked Up was terrible! At one point Caleb was like 'come on guys sing along' because the 'Woahs' actually stopped when they were supposed to carry on. Oh well, maybe it was just the front section of the standing crowd that were bad. I spoke to a lot of the people round there and it was many of their first KOL gigs so maybe they didn't know how it went? Meh, who knows. The rest of the gig was brilliant

I really hope the guys know that not all fans are gonna act this way. And the ones that do will probably move on to worship another band/artist the minute the Kings drop off the radar. I hope they know this. I was saying to Sorrell last night I would never ever want them to feel in that situation with me or anything, because I would never want to do anything to jeopardise my "relationship" with them as a fan or their well being. I know all the true fans feel the same way as me, it's just some of the overexcited new ones I guess that don't really get the drill. This isn't a bashing towards new fans, just SOF fans, I tried to give them the time of day and I'm sorry but I just can't do it. Caleb says he looks out into the crowd and says he sees people who he's not sure is his kind of people. I feel exactly the same, like what are you doing here?!

hmmm, i get what your all saying, but you know what i quite like seeing all these new fans at the gigs. I've been a huge fan for years and years, and as much as i never thought i would say it, i quite like seeing all these new fans: 1- i get to feel great as i know all the words to every song 2 - this is what the bands been working towards...they have finally got huge, their music is recognized and appreciated by so many, and i think thats fantastic.....so what if at the gigs theres a few people who don't know the music, but i bet theres a lotta people who are new to the band and have now discovered the old music....good on them.....
and welcome to all thos brand new SOF fans!!!!
(about the crazy fans - the band will always make time for their proper fans....yeah they will have crazy fans...but i bet they feel pretty damn good....loads of women going crazy about them..i bet they love it!!!!)

Yeah I guess it is what they wanted and fair play to them. I don't care new fans if they know more than just the singles, I think people like that are lazy and don't deserve to push infront of fans who know more songs than them and have been in the queue hours longer. Maybe that's me being harsh I don't know, I like being on the barrier personally cos I couldn't last in that pit and if someone who knew one song stole my space I'd be fumin!

I'm the same! One thing that came good from the new fans is it makes me feel even more dedicated and like a really good fan 'cause I know all the words and I know every song etc etc Like, just before the gig I met some girls from Manch and it was their first gig and they were asking me all these questions about what the gigs are like, what songs they do etc. Loads of questions I loved answering!

I love that too and I've no problem whatsoever with new fans. It's fantastic that new people are catching on to what we've all loved for years. My old housemate didn't like KOL at all until I moved in with him and now he's hooked, not just on SOF, but each and every one of the albums. He now has this habit of calling me drunk and singing Taper Jean Girl down the phone I don't mean to turn this thread in to a rant either but it's just what I experienced in Manchester. I have to agree with Sarah though. These 'fans' push ahead of you at the barrier just to look at the band members because they are good looking and nothing else because they only seem to know the words of one song. A lot of genuine fans were also forced to buy over-priced tickets from the black market because of SOF fans. Sadly there's nothing anyone can do about it and I'm not going to say anymore because I sound like a broken record! It's a fact of life now and I suppose I'm just gonna have to block out the screeching girls when they roar in my ear and sit back and enjoy the music because KOL fans might have changed but their music is still wonderous

Do older fans dislike newer fans? I don't think they do. There's a difference between disliking new fans and being nostalgic for the 'good old days'. I think older and newer fans dislike people who aren't really fans taking up valuable tickets/space and worse than that act in ways that spoils their enjoyment. And there is dislike for silly fangirls because the music is more important. For me personally, screaming at another human being is stupid and bad manners. But then I'm old.
edit - Ruth, KOL fans haven't changed really. A true fan is a true fan, new or old. The rest are something else. edit 2 - and to repeat myself (haha) - I had an amazing time, first opportunity I had to see them, and I was pleasantly surprised by the crowd from where I was. Not that they were all great, but no one near me was as bad as I'd expected some might be. Large gigs are always a mixed bag.

^^^ Oops, I didn't mean for it to sound like KOL fans have changed. That's not what I meant. I don't dislike newer fans either. What I do dislike is the new people, who only have an interest in one/two songs and have no interest in getting to know their other stuff. The people who like SOF only and what the guys look like. There's lots of new fans who only got in to them recently and have embraced the music and that's fantastic because the more people that genuinely appreciate KOL music the better Silly fan girls is the perfect word Tic, that's who/what I dislike! Hope I haven't caused confusion.

I hate the silly fan girls who only get to know the singles! After the gig on Monday I was one of the first to the back gates and before too long all these silly over excited girls came and literally bummed me out of the way! I just decided to move out to the side and say very loudly, "ALL THESE BLOODY SEX ON FIRE FANS. THEY DISGUST ME." Ha ha OMG did you really say that?? I know what you mean though, the kind of girls who just want to meet KoL to say they met someone famous. I've come across them too, I think they just want a piece of whatever's hot right now, but there's not much anyone can do about it.

Well, another amazing night with Kings of Leon. I was at the O2 on Monday and they never played California Waiting so I was very happy when it came on last night! I danced and sung all night. My mate and I woah woahed and sang about "little bumps of cocaine" like crazy women (helped along by several £4 pints of cider) I thought the atmosphere was great, better than last Monday (again could have been down the cider ). Seats in block 101 from the KOL website were great, we could see the guys and Nathan has clearly got some guns! I really enjoyed being able to tell who was actually playing which bit, which is something I will remember when listening to the songs from now on. People have pretty muched covered the set list etc... but I haven't seen any mention of a guy filming them. I'm convinced he kept wondering around stage with this big professional looking camera....Now what are you going do with that boys? While I could clearly see them, the flash on the camera wasn't playing ball. I'll post the pics that I did manage to take (clearly)... hope there isn't too many Enjoy..., I know I did! Em
