Me and Kayla are still in Manchester, flight home in a few hours and we're depressed. Not depressed that we're not at tonight's show but depressed at some of the things we seen over the last two days. The gig was amazing last night and to get Trani, RML and Cali was deffo the highlight. Trani was beyond awesome. However, it probably wasn't one of the better KOL shows I've been to and this is not due to the band, it's down to one thing and one thing only. We all talk about SOF fans but to be honest over the last year I hadn't been to many shows that were swarming with SOF fans, well that was until last night. It was unreal and incredibly annoying. I'm not for a second saying I'm superior because I've been a fan for longer than others but holy cow it was so frustrating. For instance there were two girls behind us, who I mentioned last night, and all they wanted to do was roar at Caleb. They knew no songs aside from SOF and Use Somebody and they were more concerned about standing well in their high heels and getting drunk. Of course we think Caleb/Matt/Jared/Nathan are good looking but these people have zero interest in the music. We've just been in the queue with Sarah and Sorrell and behind us were a bunch of 14/15 who were tanked up with beer and much more but finding the words to explain them is eluding me right now. However, it really made me realise what Jared/Caleb mean when they say they don't relate with a lot of people at the shows anymore. I really hope they realease a curve ball of a fifth album and such people will feck off back to Girls Aloud concerts! Blue are reforming aren't they? Well, no doubt they might keep SOF fans busy for a while!!! When the lads were driving out of the arena last night Caleb waved from his car and one girl was hysterical. She started screaming incredibly louds and jumped around like a lunatic! I don't know what such antics acheive I hope this post doesn't offend people on here but more and more people are only going to KOL shows because the guys are good looking and had a number one single and to a certain degree they are taking the fun out of it. It won't stop me going to shows because the music will always win out but to see things do a 190 degree turn in under a year is so disappointing. It's not the guys fault and there's nothing anyone can do but it's sad Sorry for the long post, it was just annoying me and had to get it out of my system. From Ruth and Kayla in Manc

That's awful Ruth! You can always spot the girls who don't come for the music... nobody in their right mind wears heals to a concert!!! (no offense to any of you that might! but in my experiences this is true!) I'm really afraid that the SOF fans will ruin my time at Lolla! (if they do I might get violent!)
I hope Lowri gets home soon and posts her pics with her new sweater buddy (caleb!)!!!

i agree 110% with everything you just put it upset me when they done trani, and i was like one of the only people around me singing along. the rest of the people were just screaminggg very loud and jumping about i mean yes scream and dance by all means but i'd prefer it a lot if they did go to a bloody girls aloud or blues concert and save kol for the real fans

Aw Ruth that makes me Totally agree with the next album though, they need to stick to their guns now...and I think they will, they've done what they set out to achieve and have seen everything that comes with it; and it looks like there's a fair bit of it they don't like. As long as they keep producing fresh albums that mix us up, the fairweather freaks will fall by the wayside and leave the rest of us to it. Viva los Kings innit

totally know where you're coming from ruth (and kayla)
there are SO many people in my life who like KOL now and before they used to tease me for my passion.
it certainly puts the band in a tough spot, doesn't it? on the one hand, they're selling out arenas and therefore making more money. but more and more concert-goers are only there for sex on fire and use somebody.
just had a flashback to a memory from a KOL show in 2007. there was a girl next to me in heels and a leopard print dress. she didn't sing any of the songs, didn't even sway to the music. she kept making eyes at caleb and waited by the buses afterwards. and this was back before SOF. so maybe there will be always be fan-girls who only like the guys for their good-looks.
it makes me thankful to have found HA and know that most of us are here primarily for the music eh?

i dont mind like if people like them and actually like the music aswell. because i doo find them to all be very attractive, its just annoying when they doll themselves up and just stand there looking gorgeous to get noticed by musicans that they don't even like for there talents

Im pretty sure there are many SOF-ers who will go and buy old albums and love them but there will always be those who will drop off when AHA Shakes big brother is produced, all we need is a little patience

Hey guys,
Don't post on hear often but i gotta say i agree with yous, I got into a bit of a row with someone who was sat down next to me and told me to calm down and when SOF and use somebody came on they jumped up like they had been shocked, Songs like Calli and trani were little gems in the set that was massively unappreciated, I also heard someone saying they should of played SOF in the encore even though they had already played it which is pathetic.
But still the boys rocked and were effortlessly great as usual
thanks for listening guys

I refuse to be downbeat about last night!
But I do get where you're coming from with the SOF fans criticisms, and reading Angie's comments about Caleb seeming to cut things short when he came out to meet fans made my stomach lurch. Who the fuck screams at another human being? So rude!!! Made me wish I was there I would have told them to shut up. I thought the crowd was much better than I'd been led to expect it would be, and I was also in crap seats, dreading being surrounded by completely crap people. Also - what do you expect from a crowd in an arena?? Any audience that size will always have a large helping of wasters and freaks, and in this case, fangirls. Thinking that way is realsitic. The Kings don't belong to us they belong to whoever, sadly.
I was happy at who was getting it that you wouldn't expect - there was a group of young girls we passed on the way out who clearly knew sod all about the music, but had just had an education and were saying some cool stuff. And the guy directly in front of me, on his tod with his beer who knew the words and had a great time. Old enough to be my dad.
Having declared myself as a glass half full kind of girl, I also should say this - I want the next album to scorch. So the fangirls burn.
Ruth and Kayla - I'm sorry you were left with that bad taste in your mouths xx

...when AHA Shakes big brother is produced can't wait for this day!!! ^shepo, it's crazy! SO many similar stories have surfaced. WHY ON EARTH WOULD ANYONE ASK YOU TO SIT DOWN AT A ROCK CONCERT?!

Frankly where I was, sitting down would have been the sensible thing to do. I don't know why I didn't go flying without wings, seriously. I'm never going that high again, I dont care what I have to do.

Wouldn't it be brilliant if we could have many a KOL gig in the future where they do fill a venue like the MEN, but with people who love all the songs and not just 2. Where there isn't a neccessity to play Sex on Fire, and where people don't leave before the end, and where I don't feel like punching half the crowd. Where they feel comfortable playing Trani or another old song like Wicker Chair, fearless of what the reaction would be, because they know it will be well received.
Yes, I have a dream...
