^^ LOL! yeah i was screaming like a man... and my hair was all wavy and spazz from the rain... my brother and mum were probably right next to you.. mum said she told off these short girls that were trying to push through, and was like 'WHERE DO YOU WANT TO GO??!'... it was probably those bitches my brother was complaining about them the whole taxi ride home thats so cool you were right near me!! you should have pushed through to the front, haha and spazzed it out with me, haha. the crowd around me were pretty crappy i felt like the only one jumping at times... oh dear Ha, I think I remember you! Dark hair yeah? I love that your mum was in the mosh, that's awesome. I was so tempted to push in front of these girls but there were so tall that they would have palpitated me. Being a shorty sucks. I also jumped hun. I noticed only like 2 or 3 others jumped near Jared. Did you notice how tired he looked? He just looked really .. I dunno, sick of playing. Caleb looked so insanely excited at the support though. I could just see in his eye looking around that it is still so surreal for him.

YAY!! Melbourne generally have kick ass crowds anyway.. and it wasnt TOO rough which was pretty good. WOOOO! everyone should come to melbourne next time and we should all wait around early and get excited together... i got there at 1pm and waiting around for 5 hours can get boring without people having the same enthusiaism, haha hopefully next time my band will be supporting kings and all u happyaloners can come backstage.... .... im allowed to dream yes?

Its been a while since i came around and reared my ugly head around the HA forum! I went to the Friday 13th (spookey) concert then saw em at sound relief, which i was calling sound aid for the whole time! STUPID ME!
Either i had tickets like a country mile away one row from the back (death as) me and the GF went and a ball! I thought it was a great concert loved it that it wasnt just an OBTN show! i thought they were on fire and they knocked the shit out of me with how good they sounded.
I was around the worst f-ing crowd of all time! All of em sat down for all of the Old stuff and then as soon as SOF came on stood up (which i sat down for just a lil protest) lol then at Four Kicks a jerk sitting behind me and the GF told my GF to sit down (bcoz thats all he was doing for the whole time), i turned all marcho and shit and told him to "F@ck off and learn more than one F@cking song". OH and wen the Stills were playing a kid next to me thought they were the KOL and said that he didnt knw any of the songs and didnt think they were that great.
The Concert Sweet as, but i thought the Festival Hall one was better just as there was true fans who knew all the songs there and on this one there were the ppl who just new the couple of songs!
And i would like thanks Caleb for saying that he knws that not every one likes SOF espicaly the old fans and that he appreciates every one from the early days supporting them!

I also went to the show on the 13th.... WOW!
I don't really know where to start.... Although I've been a fan for a while, for various reasons I'd never been able to see them live on their previous tours to Australia. Needless to say, I was rather excited about getting to see them this time around. In fact the last time I was this excited to see a band play live was way back in 1995 when I was 15 years old and Pearl Jam were touring Australia for the first time... anyway, I digress....
Back to Friday the 13th... I had GA tickets (I must confess that I didn't watch The Stills... oops!) and about 20 minutes before KOL graced the stage I made my way down to the floor with my husband in tow. We took a seat on the ground and watched the stadium fill to capacity and it made me feel proud that other people had finally caught on to the KOL phenomenon.
Then all of a sudden the lights went out and they came out on stage to some rather dramatic classical music - it seemed so unlike them, but it somehow worked! In true Friday the 13th fashion, they opened with Closer which I believe is just the most perfect opener for a stadium gig. The next song was Crawl and after that they launched straight into some of their oldies. I was pleased that they played Sex on Fire relatively early in the set and I was particularly pleased that they made a special shout-out to the fans that have been there from the beginning. Having said that though, I think the show really would have pleased everyone both old and new, and I'm personally really happy for them to be having some real commercial success... It gives them the opportunity to keep making records.
All in all, the show really blew my mind, the only slight negative were the number of people who obviously only knew 2 songs and acted disinterested in all the others... Hopefully though it was a learning experience for them which prompts them to go and explore some of their older music.
For me though, finally seeing KOL live was everything I hoped it would be... and a little bit more. Plus, I got to see them again the next day at Sound Relief... perfection!
