I drove from San Francisco to Seattle area one year and it took about 13 hours. It got really scary at one point because there was a deadlock on the highway and we were surrounded by huge trucks. We were four girls in a van and we were very scared for about an hour. The actual venue is an outdoor amphitheater and is beyond amazing. Its going to be really amazing to see them in that environment. I went to the festival back in 2006 and I was going to stay at the main stage against the barricade but it is about 4 1/2 ft tall. I am 5 ft tall. So if you're short take a stepping stool if you plan on being in front. Seriously. I ended up just posting on the lawn. The venue is out in the middle of nowhere and people end up camping so the atmosphere is very laid back and I recall a bunch of hippies and weed smoking lol.

I really really really want to go too.
Anyone really serious about going let me know. I found a number to call off the official site about hotels. I am going to give them a ring tomorrow. If it isn't to expensive I want to try and go all weekend.

Well, I wasn't really planning on it seeing as though I'm coming from the east coast, going to the Arizona gig, then the SF gig and was planning on leaving that Sunday. If any of the others who were coming along to both those shows want to do this one, then I'm down. Otherwise, most likely not.

Uh, I think I want to get 12 of my closes friends (or if any boardies want to join in) and do this: seattle.craigslist.org/est/bfs/1039521119.htmlEDIT: Is anyone seriously considering going? The more I think about this the more I want to go. According to that ad it will cost about $65 a night per person to rent that thing. There is a bed for 10 people and room for 3 more on couches, shower, fridge, and microwave. It probably has air conditioning too. If people really want to go see it is a bit epic it being their first headlining US Festival and all, lets get serious and do it. I'm telling some friends right now. It could pick us up from the airport. It would basically be a great deal because we won't have to pay for separate hotels (there are none near the camp ground) or transportation (from seattle it takes about 3 hours to get there). It will have air conditioning (tents don't have that) and it will have a fridge and a microwave which means we can save money on food too! If anyone wants to do this let me know. I can't do this alone! I missed out on MSG but I can't let this pass me by. We could even write all over this bus who we are. This could be epic.

Holy shit, I want to go so bad. I think if I go to this festival I can't go to Arizona because I have to leave the day after the Arizona gig for my Best friend's graduation and then have to fly back if I want to go to this festival.
I really really really really REALLY want to go to this festival though....*bites nails*

LINK TO THE BUSI emailed the bus owner yesterday. However, I assumed we would only be going Saturday so based off what I told him I got this reponse: Excluding the cost of the Camp Ground Pass...to pick up at SeaTac on Friday...Take you guys to the Gorge Campground...leave the bus there on Saturday and return back to SeaTac on Sunday it would be a total of $1300.00 (That includes fuel, me driving, renting the RV which is a place to sleep and shower etc.)....
The only other additional expenses would be your food, the camping fee (for the bus), and of course your concert tickets.
The bus can sleep 13 people fairly comfortably so since I'd need a place to sleep there is a place for you and/or your 12 of your friends to sleep without anyone having to sleep on the floor. More people could sleep on the floor if need be (they'd just have to bring a camping sleeping pad or something).
$1300.00 cash would be the flat fee (there is no fuel or tip surcharge etc.). The only reason the trip would get more expensive is if something is damaged inside the bus by your group and then I just ask that you guys pay to get that fixed.
Overall it would be a fairly cheap way to get transportation and a place to sleep/live out of for the festival! However seeing as how some people are considering staying the entire weekend, I emailed him back and told him about this and asked how much it would be again. Now, if people are considering going just Saturday which was what I inquired about initially, and if we can bring our numbers to 13 people (I'll sleep on the floor I don't care), the cost would be $100 each. However, we as a group need to pay for the pass to park the bus on the grounds. (I am going to email the promoter tomorrow about that. I might even email a few sponsors and the record label and see if we can get some free stuff or a parking passes or something in exchange for advertising on the bus.) Anyways, for $100 this is what you would get:-Pick up from the Seattle Airport (even if you aren't flying in it would be a great place to park your car and meet up to load the bus) -Transportation to the Gorge (it is about 3 hours away, sounds like 3 hours of party and KOL stories to me) -Sleeping quarters for the night (with air conditioning!) -Access to shower, microwave, fridge (save money on food) -Sleeping quarters (1 bunk or couch per person) -Transportation back to the Seattle Airport on Sunday morning. Here is the alternative (not recommended!):-Renting a car, paying for gas: Aprox. $150 -Paying for a camping pass for the weekend (even if you are just staying the day): $95 - Sleeping on the hard ground, in the heat, surrounded by dirty hippies on drugs: pricelessLol, just to put it in perspective. Now that this is out there, are people still considering it? What are your ideas? Should I just give up? I know I won't be going unless I do this because I can not drive, I won't camp. Don't sell them until we have 13 committed individuals!!!!
If we can only get the bus for Saturday, would you be able to find alternatives ie: camp the other two days or would you just go Saturday?
