Ok, I am about to admit something that come across ass odd, perhaps, sociopathic. My dh and I have been discussing taking our son, Julian to Disneyworld. I nodded my head in agreement but inside my head were voices whispering "no f'in way. america at it's worst. bad pseudo-food. try to talk him out of it." It went on for months....I kept finding reasons not to go. Welp, saw the MSG show with DH and knew I was going to find a way to see more of this important tour. I got tix for Jazzfest, a quick weekend with my girlfriends.....still no kiddie vacation.....got tix for Philly, the kid can see where government got it's start......but ain't no Disney. I logon to HA on Friday and lo and behold! ORLANDO. dingdingding.
Got online, phone, researched. This evening, while our boys were accepting thei first Grammy(!) I was booking a week-long family vacation to "The World". I get to see KOL on 5/5(alone but I don't care) while DH and Julian (ds) hang at the happiest place on Earth. Zero Guilt!
I can't wait for the show and seeing my little man have the time of his life. I have a little feeling, I may be having some fun as well.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! PSYCHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PSYCHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good for you!! I can't wait until my girls are old enough to see KOL and become fans of their music - because they will become fans - then we can follow them around the country and take the kids! Also, Disneyworld isn't that bad - you absolutely MUST see the fireworks...they'll make you cry.

I agree with Chichi - the fireworks will have you blubbin! And the little projection show in the sky on one of the nights, absolutely amazing! So awesome you get to see KOL there too

I went to Disneyland Hong Kong back in September. The biggest load of horseshite ive ever been exposed to. We should have gone to splashworld I was expecting it to be full of roller-coasters and the usual amusement type craic. Instead it was tea cups and rafts. Saying that, this is probably exactly the thing your kid will love. The American one id imagine is much better too. The HK one was on its 3rd birthday the day we were there, we got free birthday badges, fantastic The best thing about the day was seeing these toy soldiers. They looked pretty cool

^^I LOVE Toy Story!!! (1 &2) The electric parade is really cool too. It was good fun alright but the shaggin thing must have gone on for an hour. We stumbled upon it by accident, all we were trying to do was cross the road but the parade prohibited us. It was all worth it though, the Asian Snow White was tasty

Thanks all, I will have to check out the fireworks and parade. Just bought my lone GA ticket for the Orlando show! I'll be the crazy lady dancing all by herself and SMILING!

Going solo! Have fun. Remember that Disney World is not for you at all... it's for the kids.

Had the BEST time. The show was really amazing. I spent a small fortune on cabs to and from our resort to UCF but it was well worth it. My son had the time of his life in Disney.......we did it all and more. It was a great vacation for all of us. Thanks for the parade info, he LOVED that (especially the GI Joe dudes). Cheers!
