Kings of Leon Grammy Nominations

I didn't see this posted so I thought I'd share it with you guys. The nominations for the Grammy's came out, which is a prestigious american award for music. The Kings have been nominated for Grammy's in the following categories...

-Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals (Sex on Fire)
-Best Rock Song (Sex on Fire)
-Best Rock Album (Only By The Night)

It might be hard for them to win because their up against the likes of Radiohead, Bruce Springsteen, Metallica, Coldplay, and the Raconteurs all established rock acts that are more well known than the kings. The category I see them having the best chance at winning is the Best Rock Performance by a duo or group. Hopefully they will be recognized for their work here in America.

Also on a side note I've recently gotten into Radiohead after listening to In Rainbows, their latest album. I must say it is truly amazing and happy that they got five nominations for it.

i know i should be sooo happy for them...but it kinda bothers me that they're nominated with not their best album (imo)

Just took a look at the Grammy nominations. Apart from KOL, Radiohead, MMJ, MIA, and a couple others, this list makes me embarrassed to be American.

Soo many great records this year that were completely ignored ...

Yeah, Grammys def focus on more commercial records. I agree that these Grammy should have been 3 years ago for Aha. But none the less I am very happy. Even teared up. Its a big deal.

I also feel most confident for best song. The album categories will just not happen. One will go to Bruce and the other AC/DC cause they always go to the old timers for some reason.

I told myself if this day ever came I would be there. I am but a few hours away so I am going to try to go.

God knows I'm happy and SO proud that the boys were nominated but a part of me is sadly depressed about it too.

I personally think that OBTN doesn't deserve to be nominated. I think it's the worst album in their catalog and it makes me sad that the masses heard THIS album first! I just wish that it was atleast BOTT or Aha! Then I would be ecstatic because their older albums are definitive for who KOL are as a band.

Now I'm terrified that they will take all this success and keep making more albums like OBTN and that they will move further away from their old/original sound!
