It has sold 653,000 copies in the UK so far. 224,000 in Australia (biggest selling album of 2008 over there). So between just the UK, US and Aus OBTN has already sold a million copies.

The thing with America is that album sales are more slow-burning than in the UK or Europe, given its size (unless the artist/band are established and it's a highly anticipated new album). So relentless touring and radio play can start the ball rolling but it might take a year before the album has really racked up impressive sales. In the UK and Aus people were aware of the album release so first week sales were crazy!
