i've been watching some old interviews of the band(from last year), and all the times they've mentioned work on their 4th album they've said (well jared) said the new one is going to have more tracks like charmer and black thumbnail.
OBTN got released, and what was the hardest song on there? Crawl?
so it got me thinking, has the band had to cave to the needs of the record company?
to me yes they have, the record company (and the band themselves in some sense) have wanted to make the band the biggest out there, battling it out with the Kings. and to me, i'd never thought i'd hear them in a club in town, and yes i hear it. it's not nice seeing chavs 'dance' and sing to a band that some of us have followed for years when they were so small! such a shame!
is this why they're doing the summer arena tour? the record label? to me yes!

Every band goes through phases. This is their moody tone phase, I'm sure the next album will be different altogether again. I think a band has to go with whatever they're feeling at a moment in time to move on to better things and ultimately expand and grow to their full potential. Make any sense?
Every great band went through different styles and sounds(The Beatles. The Doors,Oasis..)
I just think of it as some more quirky music to The Kings of Leon repertoire as a whole.

Yeah i think theyre next albums gonna be different i also heard Jared in an interview saying it was going back to the ASH vibe, well Jared i think i may sue you for false advertising because i dont hear it myself! im just hoping they rock a bit more on the next album i love the slow songs but i dont want another album full of them

Didn't Jared say 'we are going to tackle our southern roots again' for the new album?! I think he may have been poo pooing us but I'm hopeful this will be tackled in their next album!!

I realllllllllly hope that the ASH vibe comes back; and I also hope that they aren't changing their sound to be more acceptable by more people just to be big That would make me so sad...ah well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see next year (which is probably when their next album will come out; God love 'em for being so quick with it!) and see. There's really nothing we can do about it, it's up to them.. Another thing is, I mean they're all getting older, so it's inevitable that they'll change both musically and how they appear/dress/act/whatever. So yeah.. Rambling done
