Sorry for rambling, didn’t get a chance last week to write too much down (only just got new laptop, and time was short on the library computers )
Met KOL last week at Nottingham, wrote a bit in the Nottingham thread, thought I’d add my photos….
Going up to Nottingham was hanging in the balance all week, the day before really wasn’t sure if I was going or not.
On the day, everything was ok to go, on the train from Northamptonshire I had a argument with a snobby businessman who wouldn’t move his bag off my reserved seat (until I just sat down and he had to move his bag!!!) got up there around 2pm, checked in, walked around Nottingham xmas shopping, then back to hotel to get ready for the show. Walking up to the arena was brilliant, couldn’t believe I was actually going.Until I was in my seat I wouldn’t believe it. 10 minutes before the show, got a call from my landlady who was moaning on about the estate agent, which didn’t put me in the greatest mood, and have to admit everything was going so wrong, wondered if I should have gone at all.
Went and sat down in my seat, that phone call was on my mind for most of the night and slightly effected me enjoying everything, but I said to myself during the first song Closer : no you’ve waited so long, don’t let it all ruin tonight. Loved everything about the show, so glad I picked the Nottingham show to go to, it was a great night. And totally different to when I first saw them. Different good though. All the way through the show I loved the way the crowd sang so loudly, during Use Somebody Jared had the biggest smile on his face.
Didn’t want the concert to end.
After the show I decided I could either go back to my hotel, or hang around a while to see if I could see them leave. Got to the gates of the ice arena and there was about 25 fans there, it was freezing, it had been snowing earlier that day in Nottingham.
There was some guys there in a group, one of them lost his trousers during sex on fire, and was only wearing t-shirt, boxers and a top wrapped around his waist. It did look funny but he must have had frostbite down his legs.
Waited for about 2 hours til 12:30am, we were told they were still inside drinking. Lots of people came and went but there was about 10-15 fans there then. Had to put up with some fellas in nearby hotel apartments throwing down bottles and pretending hey were KOL, fooled some fans though who went looking for hotel.. (
? Last I knew KOL didn’t have South London accents!!) Have to admit I wasn’t so confident in them coming over, it was freezing. Just wanted a great end to a sometimes stressful week.
At 12:30am, suddenly they all just walked out, saw Lily for a split second, my gaze was immediately on Caleb, when he heard us shout them over, he had a really big smile (even if they hadn’t of come over, glad I saw that smile) and they all were talking to security about coming over. First out of the gate by us was Nathan, he happily posed for pics, spoke to one guy about not putting his polaroid pics on ebay. Was so friendly, he’s unbelieveably good-looking close up.
The second they were over, got my camera out, and switched it on, only for it to switch itself off. (couldn’t be the battery, put new ones in the day before..argh! Friends know how good I am with cameras as well…what else could go wrong!) switched it back on, luckily it stayed on so I know I got a great picture of Nathan, but with my luck it switched itself off before it could save pic. (haven’t got that pic)

must of taken about 5 pics which all had the switching off thing not save pics. Grrr.. in this time, Jared had done the rounds of signing and pic taking.

Caleb was standing back and when he stepped forward after Nathan/Jared done their rounds saying “second shift”, I seemed to freeze (great pics of Caleb..which didn’t save)
I stepped to his left. Had enough of my poxy camera, and rebeldiamond (know I’ve thanked you, but you’ve made me extrememly happy doing that.cheers again!) was kind enough to say she’d take a pic of me and Caleb . Camera started working and got my one pic of Caleb (shame about someones hand being in it.. but I took it thinking it wouldn’t save!!! *rolls eyes*) Remember someone thanked him for performing Trani and it was fantastic. Lots of people talking over each other saying how great the show was, to which Caleb thanked them for being a great crowd. He seemed genuinely happy with the night.

He was looking around to see who wanted something next .. looked at me, and I froze, don’t think I said anything, but rased camera up hoping he might work out what I was thinking (happened so quick).. and he just stretched out his arm and I walked up to him
It was enough for me to go totally clumsy and I stood on his foot (god someone give me a break with messing things up!!!). I apologised for being so dozy, and he laughed and asked which camera to look at, I completely forgot about pic, and had to look around for camera!!!!!.
Heres my pic of me and caleb… I have it in black and white,which is better cos you cant see my frostbite!!! Thank you to rebeldiamond for taking it. Love it so much.
Watched him do the rounds with pic taking and signing. He had his photo taken with the group of fellas who’s mate lost his trousers. Bet that photo is amazing. As Caleb stood in the middle of them. The guy who lost his trousers stood next to Caleb, and explained how he lost them, saying sex on fire is so good you lose your trousers, Caleb laughed but quickly said “don’t you get your thing out!” Must admit it was a sight to see them all laughing, with this guy with his boxer shorts on next to Caleb!!!!! (when I was walking back to hotel saw them going to their car all happy..)
Caleb wished us a Merry Christmas, and they all waved and there was a collective thank you for coming over and giving us a great show. Noticed Matthew as they walked away, didn’t get a chance to see him really, as I was lost in laughing about the trousers stuff.
Though I did notice in my pic with Caleb, Matthews behind him, didn’t even realise.
Got back to the hotel and camera worked fine. Just typical really.
