So, I haven't posted on here in a while, but I went to the show last night. Last night was my sixth or seventh time to see the Kings and the first in a larger arena. Well, they rocked it.
Yes, there were annoying people who stood up for Sex on Fire and then sat down and texted the rest of the show, but there were plenty of people who sang along to every song.
I had a blast as usual and my heart still skipped a beat when they came on stage.
Funny moment of the night: Caleb thanked his mom for being there and said "I'm sure she could have found something on Lifetime to watch, but she chose to come out tonight and watch us, so Thanks mom."
Set List: Crawl Taper Jean Girl Razz Molly's Chambers My Party Sex on Fire King of the Rodeo Fans Revelry Milk Four Kicks McFearless The Bucket Arizona Closer California Waiting Use Somebody On Call Cold Desert Slow Night So Long
Encore: Knocked Up Manhattan Charmer Black Thumbnail

LOL, Caleb's comment about his mom. Too cute. Thanks for posting I love how they've been closing with Black Thumbnail, it's definitely a great closer/opener IMO, especially after Charmer.

Glad to hear you had a great time, crimsonclover, and thanks for posting the setlist. Caleb's comment about Lifetime cracks me up as my mommy-in-law loves that channel, so I know exactly what he means.

Last night in Nashville was my 8th time seeing the kings and it was the best. They rocked so hard and seemed to be just enjoying the hell out of the night. Caleb sounded so tight but Matt was absolutely mind blowing. His new guitar/setup has made him a true force. The encore was just unbelievable especially Charmer.
I wasn't sure how this show was going be after some of the negative posts but I guess some people are just too sensitive.
The opening bands were pretty sweet. The Whigs are a powerhouse trio with guitar and bass players switching intruments every couple of songs. They sound a little bit like Ryan Adams and a little like the Beatles. At least they have been influenced by them. We are Scientists were very tight and put on a great show which helped prime everyone for KOL. They sound very 80's but in a good way. They were also pretty funny with there on stage repoire. I recommend seeing both of those bands live you will not be dissapointed.
The Kings still bring it even though they are not our little pocket band anymore. Just remember what it was like when you first discovered AMERICA'S BEST ROCK BAND. They have no equal.

It was a basketball venue so it was hard to tell but I don't think so. It was packed though.

No1kolfan: Did you get to meet the band again? I talked to Matt and Nacho as they walked by to leave, but that was all. It's a lot harder to talk to the guys at a Nashville show because a lot of their friends and family are usually there. I did talk to them in Atlanta after the show which was Tuesday. ha

The night was great. I've never seen that many people on the floor at Municipal Auditorium in all my years of going to concerts there. I loved it. True to form, they didn't have anyone there enforcing the no smoking law and the place reeked with smoke. The band was awesome, so much better than when they were opening for Pearl Jam. There was a lot of energy in the place. Even though OBTN isn't my favorite KOL album, the songs from it sounded awesome live. Actually, they were unbelievable better live than on the recordings.
And they did play My Third House.
(After the concert, we drove by Caleb's House, but they weren't home yet.)
