aww dayoldblues its a shame you didnt rate them, i cant really make an opinion on the show because i wasnt there but i kinda know what you mean, when i saw them at T in the Park this year something changed, i love the boys to death, ive seen them during the ASH day and also recently but i thought at TITP they couldnt be assed, it was a very below par performance from them, id waited months to see them and at the time i thought they were great (probably something to do with the large amounts of drink i consumed ) but when i watched it back i just thought they lacked passion, the music was spot on but personality wise they seemed like they would rather be doing something else but every band can have off days and im confident that when i see them in Glasgow they will be brilliant, im keeping the faith with the boys

(something about a really hot, older lady up in the balcony???). haha chichi! you funny lady! glad you had fun!! not to toot my own horn but i went to see My Morning Jacket in Sept and I did a little comparison between them and KOL.... My Morning Jacket was amazing in San Diego last night! Seriously, they are just fantabulous! Jim James is a character, he prances around on stage, doing all sorts of cool dance moves, occasionally donning a cape. And their solos! O-M-G! I was in shock half the time at what I was hearing- the guitar solos/interludes they went on forever, it was a boanfide rock show. Of course, I can't help but compare them to the Kings of Leon. I know that Nathan from KOL really likes My Morning Jacket and I can definitely see the influence in some of their songs. But as far as a live show goes, MMJ just takes it to another level. I'm so used to seeing 4 Followills standing pretty much in the same place all night, no variations in the songs compared to the album versions. And of course, I love KOL live, I would rather be at one of theirs shows than anyone else. But MMJ is definitely an amazingly wonderful treat. See them live if you can! I'm sorry you had a sucky time DayOldBlues. Like Caleb and Matt recently said in that "The Hour" interview, a lot of us old fans are realizing that KOL is not our "pocket band" anymore and it influences everything- how we experience their live shows, albums, radio play EVERYTHING! I honestly do hope that the Kings take us into consideration a little bit more when it comes to live shows. Like someone said, it takes a lot for some of us to go to their shows, it's not just an every night occurrence like it is for them. It might be a once in a lifetime thing!

I agree with you laura, completely. Part of the reason I was upset was because they had blown up into something they weren't before. I liked when they were my band (if you know what I mean). I still don't think they were on that night and didn't feel like playing a concert (understandable). I took pictures, my digital died right before kings came on (another reason I was a little upset), but I had a disposable. I am still going to get those developed and maybe some came out. I'll start listening to them again, but I'll stay home next time they come around. I don't like the concert atmosphere they have now, a lot of drinking and people get out of hand at KOL shows. I'll be a more reserved fan. I mean I have this stupid ASH tattoo, I almost have to stay a fan lol.
