WELL I KNOW M83 ARE SUPPORTING, BUT APARENTLY SINCE ITS THE 1ST CONCERT IN THE NEW POINT , THEY WANT A HUGE IRISH ACT TO BE 1ST TO PLAY...SO RUMOURS ARE U2!!...HOW AMAZING WOULD THAT BE, I WONDER WIL THERE BE FREE STUFF SINCE ITS 1ST CONCERT ALSO...........ANY THOUGHTS?

I heard a rumour when I was in Dublin last month ,that U.2 are playing there in Dec,not sure if its true. but I think Westlife are playing there first,

Couldnt get point tickets so heading to Belfast gig instead, but if i heard that U2 played support that night and i wasnt there i could quite possibly die of disappointment. Jesus H Christ that would be some fucking gig  (but in all fairness i really cant see it happening, it just sounds too good to be true, and think it comes from that quote that Bono supposedly made years ago about how maybe one day it would be U2 supporting KOL instead of the other way around  ) |

The 18th nite is still free................................................I was hoping KOL would announce another show!!
Not sure Bono would be able to play in the O2, I think he'd need a bigger venue to fit his ego!!

I hate to agree but i think you have a point.(sorry for the pun  ) As much as i would love to think that its poss that U2 would do it for Ireland and for the sheer fucking love of rock and roll itself, and also because of their history with the band, and the point (U2 live @ point new years eve 1990 was a seminal moment in my teenage years) U2 just dont do shit like that. I mean they dont even do Festivals anymore...and EVERYONE plays festivals |

I can't see U2 playing indoors in Ireland ever again. Doesnt bother me cos I dont like them much anyway.
