phew, just got home, what a fucking night to remember!!!
I managed to get on the barrier (YAY!!!!!!), positioned in between Caleb and Jared and had a pretty good view of Nathan. Got plenty of eye sex with Nathan and Jared, had eye contact with Caleb only twice and one smile from Matthew. Every time Nathan looked at me, I lost my lines. Chronologically this is going nowhere, but thoughts are going in all sorts of directions!
Can't even remember the set list, although very happy they played Milk (they left this one out at the Paris gig, didnt they? but correct me if I'm wrong), Wasted Time, Cold Desert (I nearly cried), Notion. No Trani and Arizona of course, but didn't expect to, so wasn't disappointed at that.
The Ettes' first song was ok, but the other songs simply killed the time before the Kings would start.
And when they finally did, the first thing that struck me is how thin they were. Extremely good looking, all of them, but also smaller than I had envisaged them to be. Caleb wore a body hugging purple (!) short sleeved blouse and tight (what else?) blue jeans, Nathan showed off his muscles with a sleeveless white shirt, Matt took of his red (not sure anymore) jacket to wear a white printed t, Jared wore a chequered red blouse with t shirt underneath.
Man, Nathans eyes are piercing, so were Jareds with his cold stare. Think they'd been tasting the sweet taste of whatever Amsterdam is famous for, as they all looked a little high. Nathan more than a little! They still managed to play an incredible set, showing us what great musicians they are. Calebs voice only getting hoarse at the last couple of songs.
Another thing I noticed was that Jared sang completely different backing vocals on On Call, no idea what they were, but definately not 'to be there', lol! Jared seemed to be in his own bubble all evening, mimicking loads of his bass sounds! Caleb being lavish with his gestures and looks too! God, the man has the most wonderful eyes I've ever seen. And Matt has the cutest smile ever!
I wish I could show you tons of wonderful pictures, but after Schnucs' story of the security guard who took her camera in Paris, I only took my 0.000007 megapixel camera....
All in all the band seemed to be enjoying themselves, Caleb frequently thanking the great crowd.
The only real downer was when, true to recent fashion, they didn't meet the fans outside. I managed to get a glimpse of Matt when he got in a minivan and left on his own, the first band member to do so. The three others left together, I waved at the van, but didn't manage to see them inside it.
Plus I didn't meet Lonne.
