Have your very first karma, fearofsleep, as I was wondering if OBTN had placed on the billboard chart yet. I was in Target (a major chain of stores here in the US) yesterday and noticed all of the OBTN CD's were sold out!!

These news have left me shocked. In a good way, of course. So I guess 'pleasantly surprised' is a better term. I mean, according to that article, it nearly doubled the last album's 1st week sales... I bought it twice!  (I'm yet to buy the import version though) That's for the Top 200 overall albums charts, and judging by their position and genres of the albums above them, Only By The Night will be #2 in the rock album chart! I'd say it's still pretty good, considering they lost out to a giant. KARMA! |

but i think its such a shame they are catching on to such a ...erm, ____ album. kol's past albums shit on OBTN.. hopefully these US newbies catch on to the older stuff, also

It says a lot about the US music scene when KOL's worst album (in my opinion) is the one that propels them to stardom over here. I can't say I'm surprised, though. |

Hmm it's good for them, that they achieved this milestone, but on the other hand.. I think it's pretty stupid for people like me who discovered them while they were more alternative not that commercial..

its awesome news for the Kings. Apparently OBTN is 4th on Australia's album chart. it crazy because b4 this album when i used to talk about their music with friends n stuff they were like who??/
now they are getting to buy their music & get all excited when it comes on the radio.

--------------------------------------------- well shit...who gives a fuck though...at least they're getting some recognition, FINALLY! Buuuut, like so many have already said, it is a shame that they get noticed with this album. I love it, but definitely not as much as their past albums. I just hope they don't think this is the same direction they need to go in with the next album, just because of record sales...i hope they put out something else. |
