I had an hour free at uni yesterday so we went and sat in the pub (of course ) and use somebody was playing

So I was just listening to Ray Foley on Today Fm (Ire) and he played SOF and said "kings of leons new single, well now they have another one" and Adelle (co presenter) said "Ya, Use somebody" anyhoo....this interaction led me to wonder if Use Somebody has been released, but surely it couldnt be yet, its just popular cause of downloads etc right??!!??

I bet it'll be released just in time for xmas to make xmas no. 1......oooooooh xmas no. 1 would be amazing

god KOL in the charts 3 times?? its official, they are taking over the world!!

It annoys me though that my mate who hates guitar music now thinks she is the biggest KOL fan ever! she goes on about how much she loves SOF and listens to the album all the time! when i mention their early stuff she turns her nose up like they were crap before and have suddenly got good! everyone's jumping on the bandwagon!

Even Lily Allen has been quoted as saying she never has OBTN off her cd player and she thinks Caleb is fit! she may change her mind after what they said about her at the TITP interview LOL

I think the interview was on youtube, it was Caleb saying he had seen her on stage and she was completely wasted and Jared said he would take her out with a windmill! LOL, ill try and find it and give you the link!

I think use somebody is the most main stream song they ever made, but that doesn't mean that it ain't good.. it's awesome!!

he needs to define 'best'. it will probably be their most successful as of yet, but although it is a fantastic song, it definitely in my opinion, is not their best. i love this song, but there are a few others which i think out-do use somebody based on their originality. use somebody is terrifically catchy and extremely beautiful musically but it's not THAT original if you compare all their songs.. plus it is probably one of their more 'poppier' songs, given that they are a rock band.

(but don't get me wrong, i love this song, just don't think it is their best)

^^ I think its kinda sad too when he says "someone like me"...I interpret that as the other person is better than he is (although I am more than aware that it may not all be autobiographical)! More subtle self put downs!

I find quite a lot of what Caleb says sad, where his insecurities come to the fore or where he, probably unknown to himself, shows his relationship with himself! I think he's so hard on himself...prime example was in the cold desert home vid when he said he wanted to "kick himself in the face" for saying "Jesus don't love me". I thought that was really harsh and sad that he would be that angry and un-accepting of himself! But thats just me....I have an huge interest in peoples use of language etc.

Yeah.. I love the way he comes across. So humble and genuine and a guy definitely in touch with his emotions. If only more men were like that!
I agree, he does seem pretty hard on himself. He shouldn't be, the guy's a genius.. but I guess it's just in his ways!
I think that's why I find his lyrics so interesting and beautiful, cos they're right from the heart etc!

I agree bout the lyrics though, it makes a huge difference when someone is writing & singing from the heart as opposed to writing/singing any ol shite that means nothing!!
