Anyone else think it was interesting how on BOTT we hear Caleb sing "I talked to Jesus, Jesus says I'm okay," (The Runner) and on OBTN we hear "Jesus don't love me," (Cold Desert). I always thought the lyric from The Runner was really touching, and to hear the somewhat opposite in Cold Desert was sad! Both great songs though. I love when Caleb brings in Jesus... we hear a really personal side of him.

I don't think it really means that he thinks that Jesus doesn't love him. It's just a song, a really good song.

But I haven't heard Cold Desert yet...so I can't exactly answer your question.

There’s a lyric on their new album that says “Jesus don’t love me”, and Caleb has admitted to the NME that “when it was played back to me and I heard the line ... my eyes welled up with tears. It was the worst thing that I could imagine”.

I loved how Steve Lamacq picked up on their new album being somewhat balanced emotionally, as all the lyrics seem to equal out, incorporating all coupling/contrasting emotions.. cold desert is obviously one of the more melancholy songs, yet it will have a more uplifting counterpart supposedly if Lamacq is right.. ooh almost like Blake's innocence and experience.. haha. now there's a comparison
