That Marquee review is a little too generous. It is a good album, but it's certainly not better than Because Of The Times. If anything, I would've thought THAT album would've catapulted them into super-stardom.. but it didn't.

no chance is it better than ASH, BOTT or YYMH, its good and its getting round inside my head now, but i think ASH especially took a while to get into, it wasnt like YYMH which hit you full face on, and BOTT took some people a while to be going nuts over, not me however. But i think OBTN is another that will eventually get you. I hated it on first listen, 2nd listen and so on, but i think once youve forgot about the early preview/release of Crawl, then Sex on Fire, and them playing Manhatten at glasto etc, it really is a good album. I think they made mistake with the production of it, all too quick of the bat of how things were going; they should have taken option A: and done what they said - had a rest for 6 months, then come out with the same tracks, but really worked them before recording them. And as for the preview - release of Crawl, and then Sex on Fire as the first single, along with that they played Manhatten, Use Somebody at Glasto etc, they should have maybe done it with differnt tracks off the album, so we new more of what we were getting. I bloody love Crawl, and it sounds wicked LIVE, as on Radio1 last week, but if we heard maybe one of the slower track likes Revelry or Closer we may have had expected it coming.
It is starting to spin round in my head tho, and im walking round singing the songs, so it must be going in !! Mind you, ive prob listened it about 100 times so far.

Got a bit of a shite review in this weeks NME although experience has taught me to disregard anything they say The Sun gave it 5/5 although it was basically just an interview with no in depth discussion of the album Personally I think OBtN is their best album, I think each album has been better than the one that preceded it and considering YYaM was awesome I think thats an achievement. Thats what a band should do, the next album should be in a different direction and better, KOL have achieved that which is why they are the best band on the planet atm. Right from the opening lyric "stranded in this spooky town" you're hooked I can't pick a favorite track they are all so good ps www.guardian.co.uk/music/2008/sep/19/kingsofleon.popandrock this guy clearly smokes crack lol

Apparently (I haven't read it I've just been told) The Times only gave it 2/5 and said apart from the 2 singles they don't really know what they're doing?! :-|
And usually The Times are spot on.. I think they've got it wrong!

I think they've got it wrong! Yeah and Rolling Stone only gave it 3 stars. They gave BOTT 4 stars. I personally give it 3.5/5. I think it's a good album, but not great.

Also anothr review.. www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,24371200-5006024,00.html "Perhaps the biggest thrill of the album is the massive forward step taken by the band. It's scary to imagine what could come next." I kind of couldn''t agree more..

They were reviewing it on Phantom radio yesterday i think it was and they were all giving it 4 or 4 and a half stars. I like the album but i think most of the best songs off it i'd already heard somehow or another: Manhattan, Use Somebody, Crawl, Sex on Fire, Closer. But then there's Be Somebody, I Want You, and Revelry. Does anyone else think that 17 sounds like the Darkness's Christmas song?! With the bells and all. I can't get over that one! It's weird! Good, but sounds like a Christmas song.
