I can't understand Sony/KOL's logic in just releasing this as a b-side to the Sex On Fire 7", instead of putting it on ITunes or including it on the CD single...?? So weird! It surely would have increased sales of the single if there was a b-side available. I didn't buy the single, cos what's the point in shelling out for a song that I'm going to buy on the album a week later? But if the b-side was on ITunes I would have bought that, and that would have bumped up their sales.
I know they got to No. 1 in the UK so they probably don't care, but for example in Ireland the single only got to No. 8 because it literally wasn't available in the shops (the big record stores in Dublin no longer stock single releases). It just feels like they've thrown that song away...although I'm sure it'll turn up somewhere else.

Hey, Last week, the only way to purchase Sex On Fire was via download on iTunes. Today the CD single and 7" were released. The CD has Sex On Fire and Knocked Up (Live) The 7" has Sex On Fire and Beneath The Surface. On iTunes, from today, the single including Sex On Fire and Beneath The Surface was made available for download. Hope this helps

Matt's guitar and the backing vocals make this song.. i dunno, i find it takes a while for the song to kick off. Maybe it will be a grower though?

Oh cool, it wasn't available when I checked this morning which was why I was so confused! I couldn't understand why they wouldn't put it up on ITunes. I'm off to purchase now...

Thanks Jonathan! Karma!!! Lets just say i was a little peeved seeing that I purchased the single from iTunes when it first came out.. and no b-side.. The b-side still hasnt shown up on the download for Sex on Fire for the US iTunes.. So bizarre...

Wow, good song, I think it should've been on the album. Forget taking anything off the album, they could've just added it. I think Matt's guitar work on it is damn good, and a solid solo. btw, favorite thing about it, when its on repeat on its own, it loops soooooo well.

oh sorry i meant backing vocals in general, just re-read it and it looks like i said 'matt's backing vocals' but that's not what i meant.. and i know what you mean about frontier city, i love that song.
Edit: sounds like Nathan's backings vocals anyhow. I love the bits when everyone stops but Matt sliding on the guitar.

Maybe it's just because I find it hard to dislike anything the Kings put out, but I really like "Beneath the Surface".
