oh wow is so pretty! a novel as in one for yourself, or one you hope to get published? oh and have your first karma for it Thank you annie! So much. I love my first Karma! I hope to get the novel published. I've never written one before so I don't know the likelihood. Haven't finished the editing yet. Futureworld, sci-fantasy. I'm hoping if it's ever made into a film the boys will do the soundtrack. I don't know if they would see themselves as sci-fi, though. If they don't want it, I'll have to ask Muse. (I can dream!)

Jeeeezz!
I commented on Sex on fire's post because I thought it was the cheer from the film Bring it On (though I am embarrased to admit I know where its from!). Correct me if i'm wrong! I thought it was hilarious and a complete piss take. I guess trj44 just took it a little bit to seriously!
Its kinda weird how someone can make me feel the need to defend my post, but thats what it's come to.
I remember years ago hearing KOL on the radio for the first time and absolutely loving their music without even knowing what they looked like, though it was a happy supprise to learn of their 'other' talents.
But seriously, for me KOL can be defined as the band that completely changed the way I listen to music. I never used to listen to the different layers that make up a song, but now I always really listen to what im hearing. KOL are kinda like 'my first band'! I know this isn't really a definition of KOL but its just what they mean to me.

I think they're an exciting band - the first band I've been excited about in a long, long time.
They're like my new little hobby.

I would agree that the KOL fan base is mostly female as (not being sexist, just an observation) I know more girls than guys who like them, but I don't say it's because of the fact theyre rediculously good looking, which they are. hell im straight and I'd fuck matthew. But more appreciative of the music.
I've been listening to KOL since i was 16 when they first released Youth and young manhood. and as theyre music changed over the course of the albums, Ive changed just aswell along side it, not on purpose just coincedental. it's like theyre music matured as I did lol
Youth and young manhood was my high school years (raw partying and experimentation)
Aha shake heartbreak was high school and College (party big style)
Because of the times was college (maturing but still kicking it)
and now with Only by the Night, I'm moving to london to start University
so I define Kings of Leon as my life. (just not in a stalkerish way where im going to like steal chunks of hair or that lol)

They're like my new little hobby. Totally the same for me chichi. To define them --- phenomenal. There isn't a single song i skip on AHA or BOTT and only one on Y&YM (won't say which as it may ostracise(spl) me) Can't say that about a lot in the rest of my collection. They still are who i play most and they've been on all available stereos/earphones for a long time now and i'm showing no signs of getting tired of them. Even if this new album is as bad as some people have said i still have 3 others to listen to!! People need to chill. It's like reading a thread on the official website forum! And as for all the, way they look, stuff. It's irrelevant. Finding someone attractive (at whatever age) doesn't make you any less a fan of their music. It's not like a TV programme (honestly, who would have stuck with Lost or Prison Break for as long as its been on if the cast weren't so appealing?) The Followills are immensely talented, especially considering how young they were when they started. And just to go off on another slight tangent - they haven't let other people tell them what to do - they have said themselves that they are very happy with this album and produced a lot of it themselves and it's how they've wanted to sound. They aren't ones to relinquish integrity easily, me thinks.

Wow, this thread turned out to be very different that I expected when I logged on! I'm over 16, I think a few members of KOL are hot, so what? I've loved the music for ages, didnt even know what they looked like til I joined this forum! I enjoy coming on here and having a laugh with like minded people, again, so what?
With regard to the changing image of KOL, Caleb has said this album is the one where they've done what they wanted to do without hiding themselves. If this means that girls go running to the mall to buy the album so be it. Music, all type of music, is for everyone! If a fan likes KOL for their look thats their business, if they like them for their music thats also their business!
